this is the shadows right now on ps4

how much better u can get from this?

Player shadows are often a much higher quality than those in the environment (which i expect is the area these shadow upgrades would be targeting). Objects with baked lighting are often an obvious exception, but the same can't be said for anything dynamically generated or animated.

To use FF14 as an example (since i'm waiting for the Duty Finder in it right now lol...):

Lowest shadow setting:

Highest (4x quality over the lowest):

The character does benefit from the higher quality shadows, but not nearly to the extent the environment does.

No!! A Game is only 30FPS on the PS4 because it has to have "parity" with the X1 version! Every other thread tells me this. My world is crashing in.

-_-

Please go away.

Point was there are benefits for doing 30FPS.  Games don't have to be 60FPS just "because".      And.. No.. I like it here.

Really have to agree that you could have approached this with a better attitude.

Try to do so next time.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

It's better to have more options, I wish that you could turn down some effects in all console games that don't run at 60FPS.

An easy graphics feature to add to eat up extra ms is to increase sample fetching.60 fps still great shadows. 30 fps more samples cuz we can

Day one patch instead of getting it all on disc? I'll wait for the The Last of Us Game of the Year Last Year Remastered Edition.

Day one patch because, since some workers had the time, they continued working on the game after it went gold.  I know, difficult concept to grasp.

Good on Naughty Dog for giving players a choice. Hope this starts a trend.

Isnt it carrying on the trend from Infamous? :p

Infamous gave you the choice for 60fps in exchange for less graphic fidelity? Don't remember that at all.

Infamous allowed you to select 30fps locked as opposed to a higher frame rate.
