i need pics. i dont believe that idiot jleack

the lack of screenshots should say something.

.. okay then take Jleack out of the equation..

you still have one of the lead programmers telling you they added in effects to the 30fps version for a better for both worlds.

We got the milliseconds down and found we had room to add features so we give everyone best of both worlds.

of course i believe her. what im saying is that guy is a liar. the better shadows will be on day one patch.

EDIT: there it is

ummm interesting go on.

Nothing much else to say, really. I'm surprised they can't even get a linear game like TLOU to 60FPS stable. Now, it was built for a different PC architecture and X86 is ineffiecient for graphical things, but it does give one basis for concern on the prospect of Uncharted 4 not being able to run at a stable 1080p/60FPS and we may again see 1080p/30FPS with the ability to unlock it to 60FPS at the sacrifice of other graphical fidelity.

Using TLOU:R as a reference for UC4's potential is silly. I don't personally think they will hit a locked 60fps for it, but still. One is being built from the ground up on PS4 tech. The other was, to quote ND, hell:

"I wish we had a button that was like ‘Turn On PS4 Mode’, but no," Druckmann said. "We expected it to be hell, and it was hell. Just getting an image onscreen, even an inferior one with the shadows broken, lighting broken and with it crashing every 30 seconds … that took a long time. These engineers are some of the best in the industry and they optimized the game so much for the PS3’s SPUs specifically. It was optimized on a binary level, but after shifting those things over, you have to go back to the high level, make sure the systems are intact, and optimize it again.

"I can’t describe how difficult a task that is. And once it’s running well, you’re running the [versions] side by side to make sure you didn’t screw something up in the process, like physics being slightly off, which throws the game off, or lighting being shifted and all of a sudden it’s a drastically different look. That’s not ‘improved’ any more; that’s different. We want to stay faithful while being better."

It's pretty amusing though. The Cell was the pain of many developers existance for the entirity of the 7th gen. We're now moving into the 8th and it's still fucking with them :p

Framerate actually does drop below 60 fps. However, it's a really rare occassion and only happens when a shitton happens at once. Even then, the framerate drops by only a bit to 55 fps.

Kudos to naughty dog for their awesome job. But I dont care what they do as long as the finished product is good. $50 for the same game (with sharper images and DLC) I played a year ago? Nah. My money is more valuable. General public or average gamers want to see end results not the game making process.

I should iterate that I'm not knocking down on TLOU: R, whatsoever. What ND has done with this game is nothing short of amazing because they had to redo the code that was designed for the Cell. If they can do that, then they can definitely hit 1080p 60 fps locked for Uncharted 4.
