if you check the trailers the only enemies that require some non mindless hacking and slashing are the bosses all other lesser enemy "bosses" are like the smaller enemies easy to kill of mindlessly while in Zelda you have to actually hit them when they are open rather than mindlessly pressing the A button.

there is more than just hitting the A button and any Zelda fan knows this. go play any 3D Zelda and see if you can beat the game by just pressing the A button :P

1) The Redead knights, the Aeralfos, and the Lizalfos officers we've seen use their typical strategies and do require more than blind mashing to beat. According to the stream each stage has multiple boss encounters, and there are plenty of officer encounters spread throughout.

Let's not pretend that 2) moblins and stalchilds are some kind of rewarding combat experience in any Zelda game though. We all know you just run up to them and spam your sword attack. So now that they're present in droves, I don't think anything has really changed. It's the exact same combat for fodder, just ramped up aesthetically.

People that play Warriors games tend to have more fun because they know how to play them. People who don't get the concept usually stay in one play just wiping out every single fodder in an area then progressing, which really is boring. You should be seeking out officers and bosses the whole time you're playing. Any game is boring if you only sit around wiping out every single spawn and respawn of fodder mobs that are equivalent to the starter mobs in any typical RPG.

1: based on trailers and gameplay footage I've seen so far they are beaten just like the smaller enemies just that you hit them a couple of more times
2: those aren't even what I'm talking about.

I was pretty sure that on a gamespot stream they confirmed the E3 demo was a special version that was altered to make it easier for players so they can see everything without trouble. Typically Musou games have a large range of difficulties to select from. At the easiest settings fodder enemies are literally just there to provide chains and meter. At highest difficulties they'll slowly but actively attack, chipping your HP down more between the real enemies. There's also a leveling/upgrade system so that probably figures in too.

Redeads still do the paralyze scream, aeralfos still need to be grounded, by hookshot or dodging the downthrust, and lizalfos use their shield and fire breath. So the basics of combating them is the same as the main games at the core, expose their critical point and then mash until it's no longer vulnerable or dead.

The basic enemies in both types of game are just canon fodder.

Ever since I first heard of it (E3) I am interested.

This surge in enthusiasm for Musou games does beg the question, what other genres do Nintendo fans want to play without knowing it until it gets a Nintendo skin?

There is some merits to what you are saying but I like to think at least 60% of interest was already from Musou fans such as myself.

The Zelda skin is just icing on the cake.

Disregarding some of the people spouting nonsense back there, I appreciate this game for what it is. A quirky side thing in the Zelda franchise that heavily detracts from the main games. Calling it just a Dynasty Warriors reskin is kind of assuming too much before the game comes out. I'm sold.

I havnt played many Warriors games lately but from the trailers I have seen Hyrule Warriors seemingly has a slightly deeper combat system which I am excited for.

Still, I will have to play it first before I sing it praises.

I don't see what you're trying to say here. Just because of the Zelda theme, there's more buzz? It's kind of a Zelda GAME. Just with Dynasty Warrior mechanics.

Yes that's what he's saying and it's true. Zelda fans wouldn't look twice at this without the zelda skin.

Zelda fans wouldn't care about a wildly different series, that at best has niche popularity in a foreign country, if it weren't for a Zelda crossover?

Nintendo knows how to make you spend your money for garbage. All they have to do is throw mario in there usually, in this case it's zelda characters.

The other part of the point is that nintendo fans will hype up any game that is exclusive to the wii u, no matter how bad it is.
