playing it again and not impress by the visual increase. Theres an obvious increase in visual however it stlll looks like a ps3 with horrible shadows. the shadows in the game are jaggie as hell. Even playing when there are quite alot jaggies . I was hoping for a visual jump like what we see in tomb raider definitive edition. The jump there is alot bigger as the game on ps4 does look like the ps3 version of the game In TLOU noticed alot of ps3 like textures in the environment , characters hair ad noticed that the in game models are not the cutscene models which ND boasted about. Plus i have experience quite a few frame rate drops and it happens quite often

From my experience, it is beautiful enough for the Ps4. The visual improvements are definitely noticable especially if you look using photo mode zooming into character models and various areas. They're beautiful. Shadows are much better than the ps3 version and switching to 30fps completely smoothens them out, although there are still some very few instances that they remain a bit jagged. Also don't say things like that in a screenshot thread where your claims can easily be proven exaggerated or even false. I barely experienced any frame drops as well. Watching FPS tests around the net also shows that the FPS does not drop very often and usually maintains 60fps throughout. Swithcing to 30fps also provides a locked 30fps experience with 0% drop.

Anyway that' that. Please do post things related to the photo mode in TLOU from now on in this thread. Anything else, post on the other TLOU thread.

For a ps4 game its  disappointing especially whe you have game like tomb raider definitive edition which looks alot better then its last ge cousins. I am playig the game as we speak. its was noticeable these things that i mentioned. At the start of the game when you control joel daughter . the shadows there are horrendous when playing with 60fps.  But the whole idea is being able to play in 1080p 60fps. Its a ps3 ported to the ps4. they could have done a much better job than this. DSon't forget they tweeted saying its goign to be constant 60fps and i can feel the frame rate drop much like hwat happens with ps4 version of tombraider. its not game breaker but it can get anoying frm time to time.  The things is not constant 60fps as they tweeted. They also said it went above 60 fps and how they work ed so hard to achieve that goal which is lie in a way lol. Theres an area in the early parts of the game where you control joel. Its an outside area where theres a huge hole in the middle and theres car on the left. in that area the rfame rate drop is constant when ever i went towards the car lol.  Despite all that its still a good game.

You'll probably notice (if it's not already done) that I'm not exactly a great director :P

But well, it's something !

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

If you want the shadows to look better, switch to the 30fps locked option, the difference is really big, see:

60 fps                                                                                                   30 fps

Still its embarassing considering its a ps3 game . Ps4 shouldn't have problems with a ps3 game.  Why 30fps when its all about 1080 60fps experience?

The last one with Joel is great! I'm confused how those blood veins appear though. They usually show when Joel gets bloody or when bitten by an infected but sometimes they don't. lol

They're not mine unfortunately. I just picked what I thought offered something slightly different from Gaff. This one is nice too ... If 'nice' is the right word:

Well, it's simple.

The PS3 is like hell for devs. Porting it to PS4 must've been an optimization nightmare.

They didn't have THAT much time to do the remaster.

They didn't have a full team of devs.

That's why the port isn't perfect. There is no magic button "PS3 to PS4" to press.
