I must be misreading your post. I can't see how the Wii could push out 4M more, it debatable if it can even push 1 million more.
Who wins in the end? | |||
Wii | 314 | 73.19% | |
PS3 | 114 | 26.57% | |
Total: | 428 |

In that case wii wins - but I think overall, if you consider money coming in - third party support - how long the console lasted etc. then ps3 won.
No, I can't see it selling +20M. This year it sold 1.7M, so let's be very optimistic and say it'll end this year with 5M. Then, to surpass the Wii's sales, the PS3 would need to perform on this level for more 4 years. It's almost impossible.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
It won't beat the Wii, but it did officially put XBox 360 in 3rd place last gen.
It needs a price drop, then maybe. It's still the best console out there.

Oh well, in any case, i think even that 104 million in impossible for the Wii... sell less of 10,000, and on holidays i don't think will sell more of 50,000 (and i'm octimist).
Next year, how much will sell Wii? maximum 500K, not more...
No. PS3 isn't going to have a long-legged finish like the PS1 and 2 had and it's sales this year have plummeted. It's not going to sell another 20m units.
This is probably the Sony fan inside me speaking, but I know a lot of 360 owners now are purchasing a PS3 because it's so cheap now, so that will help drive sales.

500k next 5 years (each) was what I considered in the OP. |
I agree.
I guess the point would be as of this point in time, is the PS3 really that profitable? I'm guessing not really so even if it does pass the Wii, it won't make Playstation 3 more profitable than the Wii was to Nintendo. The Wii sold most in its first couple of years at full price. People are probably getting PS3s for next to nothing.
