Why are gamers such whiney babies?? What's on every fucking newspaper, magazine, bluray or sports match you BOUGHT? That's right, ADZZZ!!!

Are people crying on the internet because of this? No. Why? Because they aren't gamers I guess...

So gamers should just roll over and accept shitty corporate moves? If your phone or PC had ads covering most of the home screen, how would you feel? Would you be fine with that? I pay Microsoft a lot more than I pay for any of those products, so I don't expect ads out of them. They don't need the extra money, hell, Sony and Nintendo are in much worse shape and STILL don't show so many "ADZZZ".

You need to play games buddy and stop staring at uninmportant tiles.

Point blank period. I could be bitching how bland the PS UI is and it's not as colorful as Xbox but you know what? I play games, I don't pay attention to that shizzle.

It is really necessary to belittle complaints?

Look, if you like ads and other consumer hating practices forced into the things you like for no other reason than to stay in your wallet... that's cool.  Enjoy your games and "ignore" the bad stuff.

However, just because you're cool with it - dosn't mean everyone has to be.  Telling others to shut up and fall in line is unfair and it needs to stop.

So I guess ads on your phone or desktop home screen would be fine too, since they don't take away from the functionality?

And yes, the ads do take away from my gaming experience. I want ALL my games displayed on the home screen for easy access, or at least sone games and apps. It keeps things better organized and gives me more control over a $300 console that I have to pay $60 a year just to access the internet and get ads from Microsoft.

That's the key right there partner. I just skip them and drive on. No bitching or nothing because if the functionality was compromised I wouldn't be skipping them or ignoring them.

Alright, if you feel that ads are cool, fine. I hate them though, since they take away from my gaming experience and make it hard for me to organize my content, so I'll go on complaining, thank you very much.

And it seems most people agree with me as well. Ads are simply annoying.

Is it also really necessary for you to help him belittle the Xbox Live experience?

You think Xbox Live ads are forced upon you? When you don't have to watch a 30 second video before you do anything else?

Is that forcing?

So you're telling me to shut up and fall in line also just because I disagree with your idea.

And the OP is why peopleare OK with ads on the 360/One dashboard, not "this why I'm not ok with it".

My opinion.

I hate ads also, but imo, they don't take away from my gaming experience and that's what I'm trying to understand here.

I hate Crackle, that over there is forcing ads on you every 5 minutes you get 2 minutes of ads and you can't skipp'em. Ever tried Crackle?

There is a differance between 'having an opinion' and 'forcing your opinion on others'.

If you said "Ads don't bother me, that's why they're on the dashboards", that would be giving an opinion.

"You need to play games buddy and stop staring at uninmportant tiles." sounds like "stop not liking what I like and just deal with it"

You are attempting to silence someone; attempting to revoke their opinion and belittle what they say as "bitching".

Stop it.

Isn't that an opinion?

isn't that what the OP is asking?

So why are people OK with ads on the 360/One dashboard?

He'll take my advice if he wants to. He sounded his opinion and me mine.

He didn't get offended. You making it sound like I'm angry because he has different taste than me.

Like I'm an intolerant internet bully. Please. I ask you to ignore me.

Though not necessarily the most annoying thing in the world, I dislike the ads and believe they get in the way of the gameplay experience. I'm ok seeing promotions/sales for other games -- but for everything else MS lets on the homepage, the deserve to be shunned!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I don't mind ads but I didn't like what the X360 dashboard turned into (more real-estate for ads than games)

I like the PS4, where the activity feed area has a few ad tiles, but mainly it just shows you what your friends are up to.

Yeah, the home screen being more for ads than for user content just pisses me off. It's a $200-300 console that you need to pay to use online functions, there is no excuse for the vast amount of ads.
