Forums - Gaming - Knights of the Old Republic stillborn.

What do we want? Knights of the Old Republic III. When do we want it? Now. When will we get it? Never apparantly the game was a stillborn and never got beyond the concepts phase, or atleast that is what the following link implies. Look at concept art for the game that never was, and probably will never be. Thought it would be worth sharing since the rumor crawls out of nowhere every couple months. To hell with Force Unleashed I really wanted this game, and they can go break Fractures leg for all I care. Why is it the only Star Wars game series that has actually had a decent story is the one that got left on the cutting room floor.

 Anyway enjoy.

Where do you getthat it's onthe cutting-room floor? Devs often make concept art and models for games they have no intention of making for a while.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I saw the pictures, but where is the link to where KOTOR is "stillborn"? The last I heard it was in a press release from EA, and that was weeks ago.

I would definitely not rule it out. No way in hell.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

The project was most definitely canceled according to the source. The artwork is a proof that indeed a project existed which there was no proof before, and it also proves that the project is long since dead. The concept art being well over three years old. Lucasarts abides by stringent time tables. No game would be allowed in development for over four years.

You will just have to square yourselves with that. This is why Lucasarts has never commented on the title. They shelved it years ago. You will have to ask them for their explanation as to why, but given the proof provider is saying its canceled. I will give them the benefit of the doubt rather then blind fanboy faith in the impossible.

this is just some dude named ''james zhang'''s website. is he a bioware employee?

EDIT: his homepage, JZzhong.com, implies not. He has worked for Lucasarts, and on Kotor 2, but not for bioware or Kotor 1 (or even obsidian).

So, his work hardly implies that there will never be a Kotor 3. Just that the one that was initially planned by LUcasarts, with him involved, never came to light.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

He is a conceptual artist for Lucas Arts. I wouldn't have posted the information without atleast doing a cursory inquiry of my own. Lucasarts most definitely has an artist by this name. Further more there is more to this then the link provided, but it is the tangible proof. I am not going to go farther then that. I thought this community would be interested in this if its just going to cause problems I will remove it.

If BioWare isn't working on KOTOR3, what LucasArts project are they working on?

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

@Dodece, I wasn't arguing with you, I was just kind of mulling over the facts and pondering.

I got this picture from Kotaku. It has to do with what every developer is working on after EA's Analyst Report in February 2008. They weren't sure whether it was mentioned because Bioware had developed KOTOR or because they were working on a new one. I believe the latter, because the report mentions nothing about Bioware also being the developer of Baldur's Gate or Jade Empire and also mentions three other projects Bioware is currently working on.
