70K/week is a decent figure for Sony in the others region. When the big games start rolling in and with a future price drop it should comfortably average over 100K there.

Also see that PS3 is at basically 21% of market before end of February. Things are going fairly well so far............

Nintendo ruling both software and hardware :)

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
As pointed out in the actual Europe sales section, the wii is sold out in UK, and the proof is here:
http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/wii_stock_history.asp?Productid=3
Wii slowed this time last year also - has Nintendo already reached their sales target and is it any coincidence that Mario Kart Wii and SSBB are released at the start of the new Financial year in the UK / europe? Top that off with the UK getting No More Heroes and Wii Pro Evo in March then this year is gonna be the year that more 'hardcore' gamers if you like will buy the Wii in the UK.
All will be answered next week - well not quite next week but in a couple of months anyway.
On topic - I think that The Wii will win with about 45% market share with the PS3 coming a close second with about 35% and the 360 trailing last as their library of games get shown to be a shallow as they are compared to the other 2 on 20% market share.

Heh, you caught me out. I guess I forgot that this discussion is limited to the European market and got a little carried away.
Those who disregard the potential sales increase from a Wii price drop are kidding themselves quite frankly. I did acknowledge the current limitations imposed by supply issues, which is obviously the reason why we have not seen a price drop yet. Nevertheless, if Nintendo did address this, and supply was not an issue then sales would skyrocket.
Not everyone can afford a Wii at its present cost. Sure it is priced at a mass market level but a price drop would definately spur demand. Obviously, this is why the PS2, PSP and DS are even cheaper still - because a low price point generates sales. We have yet to discover the Wii's true potential given the ongoing supply problem. IMO the Wii is actually overpriced right now, and I'm glad I picked one up at launch. The fact that it still sells at the same price point is unprecedented really.
Looking at the top 20, it looked bad for the PS3.
But really, there total software was near the same ratio to Nintendo is was the week before when it had like 3 or 4 in the top 20.
Still, I sense a bad month of PS3 software sales to come.
Another big release couldn't come soon enough...
This weeks results are pretty much in line with the weekly sums throughout the year so far. No real surprises, although the 360 seems to be doing very poorly.. Nintendo is on top, as usual.. despite the fact that they often seem to screw over European gamers. Microsoft has to do something quick now that it doesn't really have America to fall back on.
Next week we will know much more about the sales picture of Wii, one week is not a good indicator of a trend, as we have seen over and over
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
