. Seriously, this game needs to come to PSN or PSP or something. For some reason I could play this game for hours

that game probably lowered my elementary school classes standardized test scores significantly....
my class was a test group for "computers for every student in class" to see if it was a good idea (they where testing to see if having computers full of educational software, etc all the time from grade 1-5 made us smarter). They made the mistake of having simant and the oregon trail on every computer. so pretty much all class long everyone was just playing simant.

To play SimAnt is to love SimAnt!
EDIT: An HD upgrade would be fantastic!
Don't forget about Carmen Sandiego
But yes, I played simant back when it came on those big 5 1/2 inch floppies that were actually floppy. I used two tactics:
Get a soldier, dig straight down and take out the enemy queen and bang! InstaWin
otherwise, I took control of the spider and just went around eating everyone.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods

Becoming a golden soldier ant and pwnzoring the enemy queen was awesome.
Having the "for sale" sign in front of the house b/c of ant domination was satisfying too. :)

I loved that game on the Mac.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia. Thanks WordsofWisdom!
Man, I played the crap out of that game. Addicting as hell. Made me really love ants as a kid. I mean I actually saved up and bought an antfarm because of that game. But before I bought an antfarm I would try to dig up and hills and put them in containers so I could keep them as pets, or set down the hill next to a rival ant hil to spread war and chaos. I loved watching ant fights after that game.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Nope. I skipped to "Sim Earth".
Damn that game was hard when you used only custom plants and animals... and are in gradeschool.
Looking back on it... how the heck did i even understand what everything meant in the first place.
Edit: I was a freaking nerd. How i even undestood all this during gradeschool i don't know.

Played on SNES. Not to many games that I can't grab the concept to and be successful at, but that one kicked my tail every time.
I gave up on it. The stinking neibering colonies were always my demise. I just could not get ahead of the competition.
Sim Earth was so awesome. I loved "volcanoing" over everything for no reason.
SimAnt, Oregon Trail, Lewis & Clarke...yup, that's how I spent my elementary school days.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
