Forums - Sony - Vita questions I need answered!

Greetings Sony guys!

I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a Vita. I had a thread up a couple weeks ago asking for Vita RPG recommendations in anticipation of purchasing this bad boy, and you were all very helpful and enthusiastic in regards to helping me out, so I'm hoping I can ge some more of that in this thread!

I ended up getting FFX/X-2 HD  first as opposed to Persona 4: Golden like many of you recommended, but it came down to what I could actually find. I checked 5 different stores and none of them had P4, and only 2 had FFX. That made my decision for me. I guess I'll have to order P4 from Amazon or something.

Anyway, thanks to you guys I have a pretty good idea about what the best RPGs are, but I'm looking for some recommendations for awesome games in general now. Genre is irrelevent. I like a little bit of everything.

Also, does anyone know if I am able to charge the Vita using the USB cable that came with it by plugging it into my computer, or even Xbox One usb ports? I use the USB charging cable that came with my rechargeable XOne battery pack to charge all sort sof micro usb devices (like my phone), but don't want to try it on the Vita if there's a chance it might mess it up.

Lastly, what's the most visually impressive Vita game? I'm far from being a graphics whore, but I am curious to see what my new toy is capable of.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Availability will be an issue for a lot of vita games, not much of a retail presence. You will want to invest in a big vita memory card as digital is probably the nest way to go with vita.

Anyway, uncharted is probably the best looking game.

You should be able to charge in other ports, but i admit i dont know/havent tried.

Dangan ronpa is a good game, plus tons of psp and ps1 games. Too many to mention.

Welcome to the cult, we'll see you in the Vita thread ;)

you can charge your vita by plugging it into the computer using the USB cable however your vita has to be turned off, and I'm almost certain it's slower compared to using the normal charger.

hmm visually impressive vita games? I'd have to say Killzone mercenary.

no problemo :D

Squeezol's Fanclub Member? is that how it works?

Why can't I hold all these no gaemz?

Always looking to improve my awful drawings ;_;

Ys: Memories of Celceta, Demon Gaze, and Soul Sacrifice are all great games if you are an RPG lover. Freedom Wars, coming out soon, is also looking awesome.

LBP Vita, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, and Zero Escape are also amazing games.

And I would recommend a digital library over physical for Vita. Physical games are kinda hard to find for the Vita now since no one sells them anymore, and they are a pain to put into the console anyway, since Sony designed the flap and ejecting mechanism horribly, imo.

First and foremost, the fact that you have Jogurt from Shining Force as your avatar makes you the coolest poster on this entire website! Shining Force is in my top 5 games of all time! It still holds up to this day and I find myself replaying it occassionally! I can't say that about any other game that's 21 years old.

And yeah, the availability issue was very noticeable! I went to about 5 stores before I even found a Vita! Best Buy had none, Walmart had none, and EB (canadian version of Game Stop) had them overpriced by $30! I couldn't believe it. I finally found a Borderlands bundle at Future Shop.

I think Memories of Celceta will be one of the next games I get. Everyone says it's awesome, and I do like a good RPG.

I definitely want to go digital. I've already gone digital on my 3DS and Xone. Actually having to swap game discs seems very inconvenient to me these days, and I never buy or sell used games. The price of the Vita memories cards is borderline criminal, though!

I know!  Shining force is freaking amazing! Makes me mad when I think about how sega has essentially ignored this awesome franchise...

Tearaway (the best Vita game for me), Muramasa, Soul Sacrifice Delta, LittleBigPlanet Vita, Killzone, Doki Doki Universe, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Street Fighter X Tekken, Another World 20th Aniversary Edition, these are some pretty good ones.

Edit: The most visually impressive is definitively Killzone Mercenary. It comes actually close to Killzone 2 visuals, and that game is impressive even for today standards.

Thanks! I just looked up Tearaway. It does look pretty cool, and the reviews for it are pretty excellent. Gonna throw that on my list.
