Yeah, but they didnt buy the PS3 for Killzone, Infamous, uncharted, LBP and all the other PS3 games either. The Call Of Duty crowd plays Call Of Duty....thats it.

They might buy TLOUR to see what the hype is about, but it adds nothing to the PS4 or gamers in general.

I know some people that didn't have a PS3 and wanted TLoU, but didn't get it.

Try for a moment, to step out of your shoes and try on someone else's and consider the world doesn't always go the way you want it or expect it to.

Why didnt they get it the first time?

God, people are so hung up on something no-one ever said.

Ive heard several people saying "Finally a playable version of GTAV" when it was announced for the new gen.

Also the whole "Its great for the people who didnt own the previous console to be able to experience it" is BS. If they wanted to play it, they would have bought the previous console...

The irony is strong with this one. So, you're saying that you expected people to buy a new console just when the new ones are launching just for one game? Do you realize what you're saying? You're insulting a whole lot of people just cuz you can't see things from someone else's perspective other than your own.

I take it you've owned every single console that had a game you wanted to play? If so, you are either rich or are willing to spend more money on gaming than most people can afford.

Like I said what games swayed them to buy a PS4? They didnt buy a PS3 for Killzone, LBP, Infamous or Uncharted....or the multi platform games. Im not insulting anyone. If they couldnt afford a 200$ system, they probably cant afford a 400$ one...

People are just upset that games like TLOU, GTA 5, TR and (rumored) Beyond, just came out. I dont think anyone minds games that are like 10 years + old. Its very simple if you want less new games and more remakes of < 5 year old games keep buying games like that. It also further cements that backwards compatibility is a thing of the past, which Sony has ushered in quite well.

-edit: the poll should have an option for I dont mind older games. There is no good choice in that poll for me.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

HD remasters of decade old or more games are awesomely cool, keep em coming.

Because it was the only game that he was interested in.  Too much to spend on a console for one game, especially when new ones are coming out.

I'd argue out of that list, Uncharted would be the only game that would get him, but if he doesn't like the theme then it isn't going to sell him on it.

and what made them buy a PS4?

The Last Of Us wasnt the only game on the PS3 either...

What game made the 360 gamers jump onto the PS4....Knack?

Perhaps most of the games they were interested in were on Xbox 360 as well.  Consider Call of Duty.  If you play that and 4 other games on the 360 with not much else interesting you.  (You get it on the 360 because that's what your friends have and because it is cheaper at the time.)  Even if for some reason TLoU is interesting to you, buying another system is a waste of space and frankly for one game it is a waste of money.

Probably Call of Duty.  New gen, cheapest price, and now the fact that people want to play games with their friends is probably what is driving the PS4.

We understand, after 30 posts from you, that you don't approve. Now KINDLY could you stop derailing the thread. Or do you need to hear this from a MOD?

Derailing means repeating the same thing over and over. I'm not the one doing that. Every topic about this subject has 40% of the comments by you. That's called hate and derailing.

And Sony not having any games prepared for the summer is their own fault. Delays may be good for the game, but they are also signs that the team didn't plan out the developmental timing properly.

Easier said than done.

Every generation AAA games get more and more complicated. From my experience, I've had several assignments at uni including essays, disserations, and a PhD thesis. I don't know a single person in my department who has finished their thesis on time (it's suppoed to take 3 years). When it came to simpler assignments (essays, even a master's dissertation), all my classmates and I had no problem meeting the deadlines. A PhD thesis is so complicated that it always takes longer than you think. And you can't just say before you start writing it and applying for funding "oh, I'll take 6 years. Thanks". Same (or similar) with AAA games. Just when you think that your game is working great, something is wrong with the code and you either have to start all over again or lose many days/months of work. Maybe the physics don't work as well, maybe the developers are noticing that the game is not fun and need to change something major. You can't predict some things. Hence, it's almost impossible to predict exactly how long something so complicated will take.
