Forums - Sony - LittleBigPlanet, Priced & Could be the PS3's Biggest Game

"Upcoming user-generated platformer LittleBigPlanet could be the PS3's biggest game of 2008, Sony has said.

Speaking at an event for the game in London, Sony's senior product manager Nick Robinson told VideoGamer.com that LittleBigPlanet, which allows users to create and share platform-based levels and objects through PSN, will be a triple-A Blu-ray release and will be a fully priced product.

He said: "LittleBigPlanet is potentially our biggest Blu-ray release of 2008. We definitely see it as a triple-A Blu-ray release and will be a full price product."

According to Robinson's comments, gamers can expect LittleBigPlanet to cost between £44.99 and £49.99 when it is released some time in September this year."

I'm thinking they might have some trouble selling this to the current PS3 demographic.

I hope that those fours were meant to be threes.

@ darthdevidem01

90% of ps3/360 games have an RRP of £49.99, but most shops sell them at £39.99 anyway. this one is no different.

@DOATS

so technically it could cost £32-35 then

GT5 prologue RRP is £20

Amazon's selling it for £17

I don't know if I fully agree with NJ5, but I do think that there is the risk that Little Big Planet could end up selling far below some people's expectations. The demographic that buys into a console that is priced above $300 tend to be the "Core" gamer demographic and (in generaly) they will buy a third rate clone of a First Person Shooter, Sports or Racing game rather than pick up a first rate original game.

@ darthdevidem01

im guessing it's going to be around £39.99.
