I did that from the NES days and until the "32 bit era" began. And still then I would borrow a Saturn from a friend or play it at his house. Wether it was from my brother's friends, my friends or any deal with did, I always found a way to get the games. Of course they were good friends, I was not with them just for the games. Yeah, now that I look back it was pretty annoying as the plague to be jumping up and down at houses and doing "trades" and the like. But hey I was kid, that was my job! |
Amen. I remember the first time I told my mom I hated her ... because she wouldn't let me go to a homie's house and play his 2600 ... LOL ...
As children and preteen, we did what we had to do. I am blessed to be able to have a place to retreat and blast folks on LIVE or PSN.
I do miss those days sometimes - I had like 3-4 friends I'd hit up ... and college was crazier ... I remember a friend of mine had Link to the Past on the SNES. Dang ... no joke, I started playing it one night at 7 p.m. ... kept playing it until 3 and was gonna shut it off and a friend was like 'Dude, don't turn it off!' And we had a team of us playing the game like 4 days in a row - the SNES never got shut off. It was funny ... we'd come by between classes and play for a few minutes ... or swing by the dorm and ask what had happened since we left.
It's a shame they don't make games like that.
