Nintendo phoned in the wii sports remakes. Instead of giving us legitimate motion control games with some depth, theyve just gone and tweaked the controls slightly and therefore deserve low scores.

Oreshika getting very good scores. Makes the wait for localization even tougher. Hopefully the sales will reflect its quality...

Why does Nintendo not know that they should have done Wii Sports Resort World or something like that. Wii sports was fun, but we are beyond that now. Wii sports resort was a perfect sequel, that just needed some extras added, maybe a new island or the whole world added to it.

This is like going backwards.
Glad it got decent scores, but is not what people want.

They did do just that with Wii Fit U ... it has all new mini-games that are better/deeper than the previous Wii Fit titles. Still no one bought it.

Kinect Sports on XBox One basically did the same thing you're asking for and it's a flop.

Mario & Sonic and Wii Party U also have tons of new mini-games ... they're not exactly big successes either.

Maybe it's just time to accept that the console motion mini-game craze has just had its day in the sun and that day is now past (just like the craze for guitar/rock perhiperhal games has come and gone).

After a while it just gets boring and mining new sports is not easy as there's only maybe 9-12 mainstream sports that everyone understands. No one's dying to play Wii Sports cricket or curling for example. Tennis, golf, and bowling are the three that simply have the widest appeal and are the easiest to understand.

I think the motion controller may have a revival in a couple of years if VR takes off, because you kinda need a motion controller for that, but otherwise I think the "Wii" concept of Wii Sports/Fit has run its course.
