One of the draws of getting a Xbone for me was being able to play around with the Kinect on my PC for non-gaming applications.
It's disappointing that they won't just make an adaptor to connect the Xbone's Kinect to the PC. I'm sure the proprietary connector could be split into USB and power like the 360's Kinect.

Its not the technology itself, but just saying Kinect in any kind of medical prosedure would scare the hell out of me. It would be like laying on the operating table and the doctor goes: "Nurse, fetch me...the power glove.......and turn on the karaoke machine, because its time to OPERATE!!!"
I get really frustrated with the Kinect, Im afraid the doctor wont get it right and just go "FUCK THIS THING!!!....UGH I COULD JUST KILL SOMEONE!!!........SCALPEL!!!"
Im sorry. I just had to get those out of the way:)
If the Kinect can seriously improve the way doctors do their work, then I wont say anything against it. It is an advanced piece of technology, but I just dont see it being used by many hospitals. They might get the idea from Kinect and make something dedicated to the doctors needs though. |
I said this (proof of concept using a kinect because it is reachable).
And second, the xbox commands wouldnt even be used, you really have this bias against microsoft and it reeks throughout your every word. Also, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and I have no idea why you come to post on something you have no idea about. No one said an actual xbox would be used to make medical equipment, no one implied it. All of the things you said are just silly little stories you have concieved all on your own and are as far from the actual way it would be used (who the hell would use voice commands for surgery?)
maybe youre just some troll, or maybe you just can't think things through and have little to no basic problem solving.
Systems Owned: PS1, PS2, PS3,PS4, Wii, WiiU, xbox, xbox 360, xbox one
extreeeeeeeeeeeemely expensive.
Seriously XBO + Titanfall + Kinect ist 400€ on Amazon Kinect alone is 200? wtf.
And also if Kinect is 200 why is the kinectless XBO not 300€? 500-200 = 300 NOT 400!

What is wrong with you? Why do you hate on this so much? You are completely nonsensical.
- It's optional.
- There were INCREDIBLE things done with kinect 1 on pc
- with reference to the above, you have CLEARLY done NO research and hence are not fit to comment on this
- There are people that have been waiting for this. Does your (useless) opinion mean these people should not get a product they want?
- The kinect sucks for gaming but is amazing as a diy dev tool
In the future it would be best if you stayed out of threads like this instead of spreading useless hate.
Called it. They're following the value added strategy.
You price the peripheral for way more than it should be, and it gives consumers a new perspective when looking at the bundled system....it now looks like a bargain. Of course, Sony might just counter this by bundling their camera for free.
(I'm aware the two sensors are leagues apart...but consumers won't care)

exciting! I hope it works with windows 8 well. I hope to upgrade to a gaming tablet later this year, and I would love for kinect to work with it.
