Forums - Gaming - My perspective of the four fanboys of videogaming.

Nintendo fans.  First party games are a lot of the time great games, no denying that, but Nintendo fans put every Nintendo first party title on a pedestal regardless of quality.  Did a new game just get announced?  They'll hype it up to no end when seeing nothing more but a five second scene or maybe even a logo.  When Nintendo announces a new character on a video game, it's almost as big as Nintendo announcing a game, and you'll see endless hype for those characters until they actually see new games created for them.  The fanbase is pretty blind to third party titles as they can't be as good as first party in their eyes, even when exclusive on their own systems some of the time.  Unlike Sony fans, Nintendo fans are actually critical of how the company is being ran.

Actually, the bolded part is inaccurate. Nintendo fans got pretty excited about Rayman Legends, prior to the massive delay. Many were very excited about Monster Hunter Tri, The Conduit, No More Heroes, Little King's Story, Epic Mickey, Red Steel, Spyborgs (the original reveal, not the soulless travesty that the game ended up being to my knowledge), most Sonic games, Mega Man... you get the idea.

Nintendo fans are less likely to trust the quality of third party offerings than first party offerings, but have a tendency to be a lot more willing to wait and see rather than writing games off immediately.

The term "Casual Gamer" has lost all meaning...

Yep, it's great isn't it^^

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Was it the delay, or the fact it went multi format? I also note that pretty much all the other games you listed were exclusives too. But of a pattern there ;)

Heroes of gaming? Thats just opinions. Yes, they make great games, but if youre more into realistic games and great stories, then not so much...

There are still Nintendo fans that keep saying Nintendo is the best company and saviour of games because of the crash in the 80's. They will keep a 30 years history alive to say the Nintendo is the best ever.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

18. The Last Story - 80 (Wii)

The fact that you needed to mention this one game makes me think you were cornered.

Nah, he set the rules and I just went along with it. He said 80+ Metascores, not games that are good.

Was it too hard for your taste?

RolStoppable said:

The opposite, actually.

You say that like you don't love painfully easy games that are all about getting the player to experience the same run of the mill thing they've been experience for a long time now. :P

The crash that only happened in the US. In Europe they were much more famous in the 90s for their anti consumer practices.

Can't deny they make some of the best games though.

Eh...

You forgot one very important part of being a fanboy. PC elitists don't care all that much, but everyone else has to hate on everything nintendo does. Even Nintendo fanboys themselves. Its very important! No one can call themselves a REAL fanboy without hating Nintendo.

...

Pretty much every single video game forum during and after E3 was filled with sooo much hate, towards everyone. Microsoft failed, Sony failed, Nintendo failed, EA failed, Ubisoft failed...
Is there anything in this world that causes this much hate? Can't we all just gather around and celebrate our awesome industry? Be happy that all the consoles have cool stuff on them? Pretty please? :C
