I might want to buy a PS3, but I haven't been following it very much and I'm wondering what games would make getting a PS3 worth buying.

Could I get a good idea what games would be a good idea to buy if I do get one? 

What type of games do you like?

Well I have a PS3 now for around a week...Their are enough games on it that are worth your money..

Maybe you can tell us what kind of games you like so we have a idea what we can advice you..

EDIT: I've never gone wrong recommending Uncharted to anyone who likes action movies. Also there are quite a few PSN games that are cheap and quite good.

Uncharted is a great game, just so much going on :D

Ratchet & Clank is another, also Warhawk brings countless hours of online fun! Not been playing that long and already an Airman 1st class :D

I own more than just the games on my profile, just too lazy to add them for now.
But, I like Action-RPGs, like Diablo 2 or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.
Shooting games are pretty good, especially with local 4player multiplayer.
Action-Racing games like Burnout.
And other things too.

I don't have internet that I can use to play online.
Dial-up has very limited uses.

At the moment we have: Resistance, Motorstorm, Uncharted, Call of Duty 4, Devil May Cry 4, Assassins Creed, Fifa 08, Burnout Paradise, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Madden 08, Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, Rainbow Six Vegas, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Heavenly Sword.

Soon to be released: MGS 4, Resistance 2, Kill Zone 2, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Little Big Planet.

Would you be able to get an idea of what games are good for the console by buying the console?

Well I suppose you could probably rent a few games, and download a few demo's after making a purchase. So technically, yes you could. However, if you didn't like the games, then you'd be stuck with a unused PS3.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance: Fall Of Man, Warhawk etc.

There are also a lot of great multiplatform games, like Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero III and Burnout Paradise.

It all depends on your tastes.

Try scanning for wireless internet, I've done it twice and it has worked for me.
