Does anybody else do this? I get 2.5 gb of unthrottled 4g/3g speeds from my phone company - Virgin Mobile (who uses sprint's network for data.) I also downloaded the PDANET+ app for android (for a $7 discount, $14 normally.) So I use the foxfi portion of the app to create a mobile hotspot, connect my 3DS to it, and then playing pokemon online during my bus ride is very simple. Also, after I use my 2.5 gb of unthrottled data my speeeds are throttled to 2G speeds (maximum of 256kbps, but never gets that high, stays around 100kbps.) I can still play turnbased games like Pokemon Y (albeit without 3d it seems) at those speeds with not too much of a slowdown. I've tested GTS (works at the same speed) and Battle Spot (seems to delay a bit.) More action oriented games lag way too much at those speeds though. So for those of you who don't have good coverage in your area, as long as you have 2g/3g always it should work fine for more turnbased games, and if you always have 3g - action-oriented games will work very well. I am quite amazed at how easy this is, and have enjoyed my hour long bus commutes so much more.
