All the people who keep saying " Oh, all those doomsayers are ridiculous, were in the summer. It's normal". What you don't understand is that these numbers ARE horrible compared to PREVIOUS summers. Were not comparing summer sales with spring sales or holiday sales, these numbers are horrible when comparing them to previous summers.

No, they're not. They're really, really not.

When the best selling system isn't even above 100k units sold, then yes, the numbers are indeed terrible no matter what season you're in.The 3DS and PS4 are doing decent to good and the rest are doing terrible.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

All console less of 100K.
Bad... very, but very bad.

It's summer... heading towards the dead of summer... anyone spinning these numbers as doom and gloom must be forgetting last summer, or the summer before, or the 10 before those... Oh and 99k and 96k is HORRIBLE but if they would be 101k and 100k, you would then say "OMG Still over 100k even in summer!! dang!!" lol..

Logic...

Lmao, funny and true.

Previous summer huh?! which one? 2013 or 2007?

Because i'm pretty sure that PS3 first summer wasn't better than this!

If the goal for this generation's leader is to beat the PS3 in sales, then yea, this means that sales are horrible. I'd like to remind you that PS3 is the worst selling Sony homeconsole.

The point is you can't compare the last year strong PS3 sales with the PS4 first summer in the market.

PS3 sold shit first year and ended 80+ million.

PS1 sold ok first year and ended with 100+million.

The mighty PS2 sold worse than PS4 at same timeframe and reached 150+millions.

I'm not talking exclusively about the PS4, in fact, the PS4 is doing quite decently for it's first year on the market. I'm talking about the market as a whole on how it's doing terribly in general.

Yes, PS4 is doing good, but in a healthy market, it wouldn't be the best selling homeconsole with less then 100k units sold no matter what week of the year.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

and I thought the PS4 would never go below 100k...
The Wii U going dangerously low...

I haven't seen any bestseller charts in the US showing the Xbox one above the ps4

It's not hard evidence, but I think Vgchartz is overtracking x1 yet again

I find it odd that there is an across the board 14% increase in Xb one sales in each market reported on so far. It almost seems like a preliminary prediction than data based on normal sampling. I'm not sure it makes sense for Xb one to see a 70% lift followed by a 14% lift, with the only software to help that along being EA's UFC which didn't release to huge numbers and is on PS4, which has seen a week on week decline despite having higher sales of that game. Closest comparison is when Wii dropped from $250 to $200, which gave it a huge >100% boost followed by an 11% lift then a another couple of % lift. But that was in October when sales generally start to trend upwards anyway, not summer where the norm is small weekly declines through to September except for when there are significant game releases.

But perhaps with lots of pre-ordering in the weeks leading up to Kinectless it will take a few weeks for those pre-orders to move through the system. I still would have expected a small decline or a not more than 1-5% lift even so.

According to this poll 41% of people thought it would. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=181936&page=1#21

Including me, despite being wrong in thinking Watchdogs would not spike hardware by much. All it did was slightly delay the inevitable.

There we go, PS4 still on top for home consoles and Wii U back down to 3rd. I guess it's done "duking it out". Now back to reality.

Oh didn't you hear? Mario Kart will keep Wii U high for the whole summer!

OT: Not sure why people are upset about the <100k numbers, this happens every summer, just look at the patterns.

People should start to compare these sales to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place consoles of the 7th gen, not compare PS4 to PS3 and so on. When you do that instead, the picture is catastrophic at the moment, despite this being a low season.

Of course it's catastrophic if you pretend that the market is as big as it was back then.

Shouldn't Xbone be higher? Its price was cut 25% and there's no major bump. Europe still clearly doesn't give a fu**. Is MS running out of options here?

Its higher than the 360 at the same time of year in 2006 without all of the countries.
