Forums - Gaming - Venturebeat - Preorder analysis suggests Destiny to be biggest selling game of the year with between 10 and 15 million sold

If it's that big, the fact that it has 8 weeks on Call of Duty could give it that chance to outsell it for 2014. With serious competition from Destiny CoD may shrink a little more than I'd expect, too. I don't know how many shooters people want to spend their money on this holiday season, between Destiny and CoD and Hardline and Halo Collection and Far Cry.

Yeah quite a lot of shooters, lots of competition on that front, and as COD is more of the same and Battlefield is different, I can understand why they feel Hardline may do worse out of it.

Far Cry is going to be awesome and is going to sell very well.

$500 million is too much.

Wasn't much of that due to the servers and nature of the game so 500 million is a projection of the total cost over 5-10 years or something, right?

dat halo: mcc nunbers :O

one platformer and that high :O
this game will sell stellar for a remake

but i still think cod > destiny with no doubt
destiny miss pc platform and 1m+ sales on that (wont be fully tracked here on chartz, while mostly digital)

All platforms combined? I could see that, especially if Activision plans to spend a stupid amount of money on advertising like they did during development. Seriously, 500 Million is ridiculously high.

Those numbers for Activision!

Destiny, CoD, Diablo III.

Say what you want about Activision, they certainly know how to pick em.

It's worth noting this number doesn't solely cover development, but all the other expenses associated with manufacturing a title, including "marketing, packaging, infrastructure support, royalties and other costs".

Yeah, you're correct, it's total investment over a 10 year lifecycle, including the above.

So is this saying mcc is higher then both cod and acu? Or is the number per platform

Destiny will be big, but I don't see it outselling CoD.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
