Forums - Gaming - Deadly trend spotted within xb1 exclusives

I just noticed this odd trend with the 3rd party xb1 exclusives

They're all under financial burden

1. Ryse - by Crytek, a company in perilous financial burden who according to gamers, haven't made a good game since the first farcry and crysis
2. Titanfall - Made by Respawn, who couldn't even afford to make their game without the help of EA and still couldn't afford to finish it without MS.
3. Sunset Overdrive - Made by Insomniac, who recently left from under Sony's wing as a 2nd party dev in 2012, immediately saw delays with ratchet and clank:FFA, the poorly received mobile game Outernauts, the even worse received multiplat Fuse which hurt the company tremendously, and another Ratchet and Clank.
4. Killer Instinct - developed by Rare and Double Helix, the latter being a dev who made the absolutely terrible game Silent Hill: Homecoming, along with half a dozen other terrible games...just recently taken over by Amazon. and then there's Rare..nuff said
5. Dead Rising - Capcom. Nobody is confused toward the financial hardships they're facing.

So what do you think? Does MS have an astounding ability to take turds and polish them into gold? All these games have very high production value, there is quite a lot of money going into them despite the studios all facing financial burdens.

OK.....now i'm worried for Scalebound....by...PLATINUM!!!! '~'

Half Life 3 confirmed!!!

Maybe they just look for companies in some sort of financial problem, those that need a big succes but don't have the money for it. Microsoft then funds the game expecting maximum efford because of their need for a good-selling game to clean their problems. It's probably cheaper than negociate with a more stable studio.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

If you paint gold over a turd, it's a still a turd. Just a prettier one.

no different than say nintendo with platinum games.

...a studio that is good financially is expensive to rent. a studio under threat of financial ruin is cheap and very happy to have someone else share in the financial risks of game development.

Are you sure about that? I'll grant you Wonderful 101, but with Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third Nintendo stepped into projects which were first rejected by other publishers. Is that the case with the exclusives mentioned in this thread?
