Forums - PC - Help! Laptop overheating while playing games!

Question. I have an integrated graphics card in my laptop. It can handle the high level graphics but I always put it down to medium so it doesnt overheat. I used a fan yesterday and it still overheated. Any tips?

Apply water.

Get compressed air and blow the dust out of the air intake! If you don't have any warranty on it, take apart your laptop and then clean it like that cause then its easier and better to clean

Also download speedfan and see what your temperature is... Computers do intend to get hotter during the summer T_T

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

A typical laptop scenario. Give it lots of air, get a laptop cooling fan if you have to.

don't worry if it is not over 90°C (194°F)

Open, clear the cooler. That should do the trick.

You can get laptop coolers on Amazon for $20/$30, they should help bring the heat down a fair bit.

When was the last time you cleaned out the fan ducts etc.? Saw someone already advised you to use some compressed air and I concur with that suggestion.

Thanks for the tips. I downloaded speedfan, but I am going to skip the Steam sale and buy Assassins Creed 4 which I was hoping to buy on my laptop on my PS4. Less expensive that way. I am going to invest in a fan next week.
