Forums - Gaming - Bought the Resogun: Heroes DLC, and it's terrible

Tagged games:

Resogun was the first game I downloaded for my PS4, and it's one of the best twin stick shoot em ups I've ever played. Needless to say I couldn't wait to play the game's first DLC, title Resogun: Heroes. Well... Housemarque has pretty much pulled another SSHD; they made an awesome game but a DLC that not only is damn near impossible, it's also 0 fun. There's no replayability to it, it's frustrating to even try and play, and it's far from worth the $4.99 selling price. If you like Resogun, don't waste your time and money with this DLC. The only redeeming factor from it all is the totally awesome Ship editor, but that's free anyways.

What about local MP?

I didn't really like Resogun. Nowhere near Geometry Wars or Super Stardust, in my opinion. I'll take your word on the DLC and never touch it.

I thought the game itself was terrible already.

They've made subtle changes to the gameplay with the patch that has quite a big impact on the way people will play. I've always felt though that kiting and the other strategies that players came up with were legit...However it was quite obvious that only a handful of players knew about it which gave way to a lot of players wondering "how the fuck did he get that crazy high score". Its a bit weird that they have gone and changed all of it.

Anyways i think its going to be good for the game in the long run. It feels less broken now and you actually have chance on the leader boards without needing to know the secret strategies of getting high scores.

The ship editor is also really cool...you can model every voxel of your ship! And best of all you can change the stats of your ship which is going to introduce a new level of strategy!

Also they finally added region specific filters for high scores..now i can legitimately claim to being the best player in my country muhahahah!

So yeah i think the changes introduced into the patch have been positive. Theres going to be some people who prefer the original version i guess. But lets face it most players had already moved on.

I'm surprised you are so negative about the DLC? Are the new modes not fun at all? And are you not considering the changes introduced in the patch?

Survival mode looks like its going to be the mode of choice for hardcore players...

And demolition just looks like a blast to play. Couple more hours and il get the DLC as well, will be sure to post my opinions here.

Id like to see a bit more reasons for your opinions on the DLC though...like what specifically is annoying you?

For such a low price I cant imagine any resogun players who wont give it a try.

Just like the Ship Editor, local MP comes free with the Patch. Heroes just gives you Survival and Demolition modes.

Any reason as to why it's bad?

The two modes introduced are for hardcore players mostly and it should be hard for some users to play.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Is it just me or did the free portion of the patch make the game a lot harder?  It seems like guns are weaker, certain enemies are faster, ships move different etc., in the regular game modes.  I have not yet bought the DLC, I am just talking about the free things that randomly showed up.
