Forums - Gaming - Value proposition. MCC vs. LoU remastered

Before we begin let me make clear that if I owned an Xbox One I would most definitely be getting MCC.  Aside from loving the best possible versions of games I believe it offers tremendous value.  Also all prices are according to Amazon and of course I rounded on many.

MCC vs. LoU remastered.

LoU is $30 on PS3 right now.  A bundle with the season pass costs $80.  That's $80 worth of content for $50.  It's a 1 year old game.

Halo 4 is $30 now Goty edition.  Halo 3 is $13.  Halo Anniversary is $19.  Halo 2 is $18.  $80 worth of content I suppose.  The games range from 2 to 13 years old (at time of release).

Both will be 1080p 60fps and feature improved online functionality from their originals.  Lest we forget that Sony has done many a 3 game HD collection for $40 in which all the games were 1080p 60fps (Sly, Jak, Ratchet).  Why is it that the LoU is the one catching slack again?  I'm not saying MCC is a bad value but they're basically the same value to me.  Just be consistent.  If you're going to insult one's value insult the other's.

Alright. Both games offer crappy value, if you have played them already.

I like MCC just cause Halo 2 needs a lot more remastering than LoU does plus 4 games in one vs just 1 game plus the online multiplayer should be excellent! But people that havn't played the Last of Us yet will be in for a nice treat with the LoU remastered thats for sure

Its just, I feel as though the LoU is going to have a lot less effort put into it than MCC will and therefore I side with MCC cause even though they will both be awesome for people that havn't played the series before, MCC looks like it will be a better treat for the people that have!

Seeing an old/favorite franchise given a second chance is awesome for anyone which is why seeing old Halo with remastered graphics will have a better effect (imo) than seeing an one year old game with remastered graphics

LoU is far better value for me, it'll work in a PS4.

Not really anything to discuss though is there?

One game is a full PS4 port.

The other is a bunch of Xbox 360 games running with a better frame rate and 1080 then a remake of Halo 2.

Far more content in MCC, but LoU will be by far the definitive version of that game and rebuilt around PS4.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

For the MCC, you also have to take into account the DLC, which is like +$50, and Halo 1 is getting online multiplayer for the first time on consoles. The MCC has way more to offer than TLoU Remaster.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

What is LOU?

So you count TLOU DLC but not Halo's? Also there's Halo 5 beta and Halo Nightfall

For me it would be The Last of Us remastered. Never played it on PS3 before and i'm not really a massive Halo fan anyways though I might go back to Halo 4 multiplayer once in a while.

You count the dlc for LoU but not the halo games?

This, i think halo is weaker, but because i hate FPS lol, but more seriously, if you think about this, you have 4 halo on xboxone, there will not be many players in multi because fanbase will be mostly on 2 i think. so 1-3-4 will be useless, i may be wrong and hope for the fan who buy for 1-2-4.
