It's gotta be Skyward Sword out of those options, for me. It's a great game, but OoT, Majora's Mask, TP and WW are far superior.

never played majora's mask, but I've played all the others. Of those, Skyward sword is by far the worst... like not even a good game kind of bad...
Skyward Sword: Complete bore and chore to play. I felt that the game did not live up to promises made before release.
BTW, if you were late to the party for OoT, thats your fault. Definitely not overated as it set standards still used today for 3D action and action/adventure games. Dated? Yes. Overated, no way
OoT. Not a bad game by any means but it hasn't aged too well at all, future games improved on the formula OoT introduced.

For me, it's MM considering how much it tried actually not to be Zelda game. Oh, and that '"clever" time cycle that was actually there to hide how lazy someone was...I had no desire even to finish it.

I was five when I played OoT, so it had to be in 1998-1999. I am being honest. Even with the handholding and linearity they are not, mechanically, worse than OoT. Even at their worst, they where equal to what OoT currently is. TP was larger and empty, but there was still more to do than in OoT's overworld. SS was linear, but the way you explore that linearity is far more interesting and rewarding than any of the exploration in OoT. Even with the shitty motion controls and lack of camera control, combat was far more kinesthetically satisfying than that found in OoT. Like I said, mechanically speaking, OoT is the "worst." Without a doubt. Yet I always put it as my 3rd favorite 3D Zelda, behind Wind Waker and Majora's Mask, but ahead of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess. I think it is objectively the worst, but I think that Twilight Princess is subjectively the worst. It's the least original, the most derivative, and the most boring. |
You are gonna have to be more specific. I mean, even at their worst they were equal to what OOT currently is? What's that supposed to mean? Your only explanation is that TP was larger and empty(point against TP) but had more to do(vague because quantity doesn't equal quality). For SS, the way you explore the linearity is far more interesting and rewarding than any of the exploration in OOT(what exactly is the way? collecting bugs? upgrading your items?) Combat was far more frustrating in SS, if that's what you mean:P But I will agree that the controls were fun, they just didn't work all the time.

Hopefully Zelda U can break that streak with something a little harder. I'm hoping for something between Majora's Mask and Wind Waker's difficultly, leaning closer to Majora's Mask. |
That would be awesome, I'm enjoying hero mode on WW, it's quite the challenge.

Overall, Skyward Sword. It was major step back from previous 3D Zeldas, with no real overworld, no day/night cycle other than the sky, almost no exploration, insane amounts of fetch quests, etc.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC
Obvious, Wind Waker. Half-baked game unlike all the other 3D ones.
