The closest thing to a "good" Sonic game in recent years was Sonic 4 Ep. II. Saying that any recent sonic game is the best suggests that any were good, and I don't think any where that good. Lost World comes the closest, but that's really because of three or four levels. The rest was mediocre to horrible, so it isn't fair to call it "the best," even when it technically is.
