well that's why we put the CONSOLE in front of exclusive.  If everyone just called them exclusives I could understand a change being needed.  Bottom line is it's a FORM of exclusive.  Not an entire exclusive just a limited or partial exclusive.

Yeah but the thread is called: Do you count a console exclusive as an exclusive?, and you just said it, its more of a "partial exclusive"  because there IS another way of getting the game without having to buy a console, thats why i will always consider real exclusives like Zelda, Halo and Uncharted to be better system sellers than games like Titanfall.

oh absolutely it's nice not to put qualifiers in there when you say exclusive.  Thread title answer is simple I'm just discussing the larger issue here as far as motive to buy a system.

If Titanfall even sold ONE console its a console seller. Spoiler Alert: It did and yes I do consider it a exclusive.

Its not a full exclusive but a console exclusive instead. Sure it lost hardware sales due to the PC/360 versions being available but it also gained console sales due to it not being released on the PS4. So yes a console exclusive is a exclusive.

But how can Titanfall be a console exclusive, when you can play it in more than one console?

With that definition, mostly every games ever released on a console is a console seller. Anywhere in the world someone will have bought the console for game XYZ. ;)

I didn't buy Titanfall because most games without a solo campaign don't appeal to me... the story of a MP-only game is in most cases bad or at least bad paced. Nevertheless I will try it out in the next days. Hadn't to buy a console for €400 - €500, hadn't to subscribe for XBL, hadn't even to buy the game... it's completely free for 48 hours thanks to EA's "game time" program. And the PC version is even technically better than the "exclusive" console versions which do nothing without XBL Gold.

No, but only because I'm a PC gamer as well

I mean, when a news channel posts an exclusive story (meaning, you'll only hear it on that outlet), said story isn't, currently, being shared by another news network. They mean ONLY ON THAT CHANNEL.

Perhaps such a simple concept has flown over the highest point of the human body, but for me, the word is strict and to the point.

Simple as that, people. It's really not a hard concept.

It still makes me chuckle when I see people mention Titanfall and exclusive in the same sentence. The game is available on not just one, or two, but three devices. That's the craziest "exclusive" I've ever seen.

And it's free on Origin this weekend lol.

No.

If Super Mario Galaxy came out on Wii and PC would it be an exclusive?

If Pokemon X released on iPhone and 3DS would it be an exclusive?

So LBP3 is not considered a exclusive?
