Final Fantasy Explorers Details Reveal Lots Of New Information

By Sato . June 17, 2014 . 5:55am

The jobs that were initially revealed for Final Fantasy Explorers were Knight, Monk, Black Mage and White Mage. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals that the game will have about 20 jobs, and shares more on the game’s features. (Thanks, Game Jouhou.)

In addition to the first four jobs, the magazine reports the following others: Dragoon, Paladin, Thief, Ninja, Red Mage, Time Mage, and Bard. Players can assign up to eight different abilities to various buttons, and there’s also some sort of multiple-ability system in the game.

Your positioning and position adjustment plays an important role in the action of Final Fantasy Explorers. While it may look like a Monster Hunter-style game with a Final Fantasy aesthetic, the Game Jouhou report suggests that it is more like a light version of Final Fantasy XI and XIV.

For example, there will be a log that indicates damage numbers, and such. In addition to being able to switch around weapons, armor, and accessories, you’ll be able to switch around abilities on characters. Once you learn an ability, they can be used on other jobs, as well.

Each ability has their own costs, and playing as the characters that originally learn the ability will cut it in half. So if you learn a Black Mage ability, it’ll only cost half the amount of points while on Black Mage, but you’ll need to cover the full cost on any other job.

Here are a few other cool little details:

  • The game is set on an island that has all kinds of areas, and you’ll be free to walk across the entire place.

  • There’s a certain feature that lets you befriend monsters you defeat and have them join your party. It’ll be possible to have a party that consists of two players and two monsters.

  • It is said that the game’s main portion actually takes place after you clear the story, boasting a volume of about 100 to 200 hours worth of gameplay.

  • Square Enix are currently developing Final Fantasy Explorers to give off the spirit of the Final Fantasy series  inside a multiplayer action RPG.

Looks like the many generations of summons are the main antagonist.

This would be the right time for people to bargain with SE. We give Type 0 back to the Vita if they put Explorers on a real console.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I hope Dark Knight is in. Im sure it is but man would I be pissed if it wasnt because I would have to settle for Bard

If I step back far enough I will still see my TV but I will not be able to see a tiny piece of plastic. That makes it essentially not real because it stops existing.

What I''m trying to say is that I don't consider handhelds the pinnacle of console experience.

ok but besides SE late stupidity, this decision is better for the majority. You are in the minority in this case :O

If it's for the majority they should release it on Wii.

The island thing worries me. Just makes me think it'll be a small world with lots of backtracking. If it's a large island with multiple dungeons and lots of exploration throughout then it makes me interested a little. What's in the OP does sound like it has potential.
