Just answering the question. I agree for the most part that it's a non-issue, but it's not like their aren't games with ridiculously long story modes. However, going by previous Metal Gear games, I suspect it'd only take 10 hours if you didn't bother with side quests. But their are games like Skyrim where many players might not even touch the story mode and this could be a bit of a put off for them.

And this is the first Metal Gear game to go Open World. Try traversing that in 10 hours. Seriously, if you're not into Metal Gear, it's fine. But you don't have to say nonsense just to put it down.

Lol, I'm not putting it down, I'm just stating likely/possible scenarios. Most Metal Gear games only take 10 hours to complete the story mode (a very good 10 hours that's worth every penny) and most open world games have some form of fast travel. Therefore, if a player was so inclined, they will likely be able to play the game in 10 hours. At the other extreme, you have some players that like to do side quests, and they may spend hours of the game not getting Kaz (poor Kaz).
FYI, MGS 1, 3 and 4 are all in my top 50 games of all time. I'm a big fan and looking forward to this iteration as I enjoyed Ground Zeroes.

There's no fast travel in the game aside from horses, jeeps, and trucks. The helicopters and Fulton Recovery System are only used for going to-and-fro Mother Base. Watch e3 2013 to see how large the game world is, and see if it can really be traversed in 10 hours. It's 200x larger than Ground Zeroes. Think about that.
