Forums - Gaming - You know what's really REALLY annoying every e3?

It's the guy who pops up without fail when discussing who had the best e3 showing. People are discussing the good, the bad, and the EA, and you always have some guy coming out saying something like this:
E3 IS NOT A TOURNAMENT WITH A WINNER. THE GAMERS ARE THE WINNERS. ANYONE WHO ARGUES ANY CONSOLE IS BETTER, OR THAT ONE IS SHIT, IS A COMPLETE LOSER. CONSOLES ARE NOT A COMPETITION. IF I COULD AFFORD TO, I WOULD OWN THEM ALL, SO I COULD PLAY EVERYTHING, AND EVENTUALLY I WILL.
This is a comment that I found while looking through the comments at n4g, and I wanted to share it with you guys because I see a lot of users spouting this same mentality. You can't even discuss who had the best e3 without somebody thinking they have this infallible and original answer that the gamers are the real winners. These people think they're sooooo much better than everybody else and they have the real, and only answer to, "who won e3?" In reality, this is a bullshit answer because it's going to be the same answer every year. The real issue we are discussing is did the company who had most favor with gamers keep the lead, and did the company or companies who are falling behind gain any momentum with their showing? Among other topics that go into determining who wins e3. This idea of ITS THE GAMERS is starting to wear on me because it's not a real answer, and it kills discussion.
If you're going to spout something like that, at least don't act like everybody is beneath you because they aren't buying into THE GAMERS WIN bullcrap. Of course we reap the benefits of all of this, everybody knows that, but we want to discuss which company is coming out of this with most gamers attention. It's such a simple concept and you people are missing it.

It's still an evasion of the question. It avoids discussion of the big three and who won the hearts and minds of gamers.

Oh.  Well, I only saw the Microsoft one live.  Had to work during the Sony/Nintendo conferences.  For me, everything was spoiled for the second two.  All I can say is that I'm happy to own all of the consoles...

And M$ won.  :)  But I see where you're coming from.  It sucks to be on a forum and not be able to have a discussion because of the "unbiased" guy.  I've been that guy several times.  Really, it's either a valid opinion (like how I feel this year) or it's what the person who lost says because they'd rather say everybody wins instead of saying that their company losts (I've also been that guy, too!).  Anyway, carry on.  Gotta go to sleep.  :(

The answer this year is simple for me. None of the big 3 blew my mind and none of them did terribly.  Nintendo had some cool games.  Lower price Kinectless 1 was a huge step in the right direction of righting the ship from last year.  Uncharted and Bloodborn.

"but we want to discuss which company is coming out of this with most gamers attention." based on sales this wont be open to interpretation, company X already won and will keep winning for some time >_>

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

This was the exact opposite of what I expected. Interesting view, though, and good point about responses like that putting the kibosh on discussion.

The big three are in competition; competition for our patronage. Competition is what stirs these companies to try harder to appeal to us and win us over. So it is fair that we judge and critique their presentations. That said, there is a lot of biased and blind vitriol, and the concept of 'winning' is so subjective that it borders on pointless. As pointless as the "GAMERS ARE THE WINNERS" mindset, sometimes. I prefer to judge each one on their own merits and faults, personally.

Well you can't really tie e3 to sales at any particular moment. And even if you could, there is still a large window of time where discussion could be had

The best way to find out who won the hearts and minds of gamers is probably paying attention to buying trends. So here are some substancial info.
http://www.amazon.ca/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames#1 So far Canada is sold on Sonys E3 conference look at Junes best sellers.
http://www.amazon.com/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames#1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames#1
http://www.amazon.de/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames#1
http://www.amazon.fr/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames#1

So far MS and Sony are keeping things heated, Master Chief collection is a hit, Sonys Exclusive Lineup is causing traffic in Canada. Maybe we will find out by the end of this month, consumers vote with their wallets and its to soon to declare to a winner, cause not everyone is gonna press the trigger until they are final with their decision. But I can assure you that alot of people will be getting a Xbox One after hearing about the master chief collection so far its the top selling Xbox One game.

Note: The Amazon Links are not hourly they are cummulative sales so everything sold up until June 1st to June 13 is totalled to get the results.
