Forums - Microsoft - 343: Without any work, Halo 4 on Xbox One is like “switching from DVD to Blu Ray on a really nice TV” compared to 360

Cool. I saw an ign video that said they were just increasing res for halo 4.

I'm really looking forward to the new cinematics for halo 2 done by blur. They are better than the cutscenes in halo 4.

Can't wait.

Well, seeing as that they actually are switching from DVD to Bluray...

Switching the storage medium is not why any game would look better.  Uncompressed and downscaled assets is what would make it look better.  Configuration of settings for meeting needed performance on X360 which reduced how good things looked for performance sake that can now be turned on to take advantage of X1 horsepower is why Halo 4 will look better.

I was being sarcastic, if you didn't notice.

Yes, I know that there is going to be a big dfference. Obviously.

Sorry then. I have seen multiple posts saying basically the same thing.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

This probably will NOT impress some the Xbox supporters I've come across here and other sites. In general, they claim that the difference between DVD and Blu-ray is not enough to justify Blu-ray in of itself. So I can see some of the reasoning applied here. That, or they are going to try find some excuse/justification for back peddling.

No problem. I think people are just poking fun on the way the comparison was worded.
