Yeah the preorders are already the highest of any next gen game so far, and it will have Acti and Sony marketing it, its gonna flop big time im sure

He says he has knowledge of those who played it. Only an idiot would find what he says credible. I know a very limited number of pre-beta testers are doing the alpha. It is not the major beta though.

so it's officially still the "alpha" that will be accessible this thursday on PS4

 

to be honest it's a marketing stunt as by definition the alpha build is never released to the public

 

i'll keep the wording to "beta" in the OP

You're expecting less than Watch Dogs sold in a week by Christmas?

Hmm.  All the buzz, especially from BenV, is suggesting this is going to be miles bigger than Watch Dogs..  

And WD was a great example of showing how people on the internet analyse a game and say it looks bad and then it goes to smash sales expectations.  Real world =/= the internet.

So personally, I don't think Destiny will sell as badly as you're predicting.  Not by a long way.

For any other new IP this would not be considered a "flop", but this game has huge sunken costs (half a billion dollars) and had probably 10 million+ units in target.

 

Second prediction : the game will become free to play by 2016

5 million suscriber for a MMO is massive, definetely not a flop.

FFXIV 2.0 is one of SE biggest success with 2 million suscriber.

Edit : Just saw there are no subscriptions. The game is likely to be offered with psPlus in 2016 but the microtransactions wouldn't make it less of a bad investment

Seriously, what's with all these people wishing failure on any game. OK, I understand you don't like it. I don't like this game either, it is an FPS, which I'm not interested in, I've never been a fan of Halo, and I know with certainty that I will not buy this game.
But there will be millions of people who will, and this game will not flop even remotely. Just the opposite, I believe this game has the potential to be the biggest shooter franchise of gen8.

There are hundreds of games announced so far, and I will probably play only 10-12 of them. But never would I wish the other 88-90 to fail. It would be a horrible world and my hobby would be a horrible form of entertainment if there was no choice in games and genres for everybody willing to play.
