Well, you have set the bar pretty high, Watch_dogs are supposedly the best selling new IP game EVER sitting at 4 million first week sale I believe... but you are also right, if Activision spent half a billion $ on the game, they must expect crazy sales numbers!
I don't think there has been any real buzz around it, I personally think it would have been better with a proper single player campaign + MP mode .. I don't like MMOs, they're too time consuming, I just don't have time for this much gaming anymore! and nobody should, it will kill you to sit that much, you need to go out and move!
Seriously, if you see the amound of discussion the Uncharted 4 teaser generated with barely nothing about the game compared to ALL of the Destiny promotion... ouch! and Destiny had real gameplay at the very beginning of the Sony conference, it has been heavily promoted for over a year now, people played it, etc.

New console bundle was just announced. Alpha just started and ad campaigns will surely begin soon. No way this flops. No one knew what this game was before two weeks ago. We're just finding out details surrounding the game, and despite the negative articles and convos you've posted, the game has been received positively.
LOL at saying no one cares, Everyone was really impressed with the alpha, game will sell truckloads. Looks like Destiny and The order are next on the gamers irrational hate list. Will sell a tonne.
I remember reading a thread where the OP suggested that WD would flop because *stupid reasons*. I seriously can't see this game failing. It will have a huge advertising campaign, it looks so much like Halo, it's developed by the creators of halo (and you can be sure that this will be reminded in every commercial) and it has so many preorders already. Surely it will sell a lot and move a lot of consoles, mainly ps4 for obvious reasons.
Anyway, 10+mln by the end of 2015 is my guess.

Scientific proof Destiny will flop...1 twitch conversation with trolls LOL.
Destiny will probably sell 1.5m FW in US alone (looking at preorder numbers). 2.5m+ FW WW is possible. It's hard to say what lifetime sales will be, but it should nearly double FW by the end of the year assuming it holds up with reception.
