Forums - Gaming - Digital Event superior to conference.

I didn't think it would be this good! The epic level is off the cgarts

I still prefer a conference, the atmosphere is much livelier and if you have a good host (Like Aisha Tyler) its entertianing and fun to watch. Nintendo had a great showing dont get me wrong but I felt the prerecorded banter was stale and boring. I think having it live makes it much more fun! Also this year Nintendo could have filled a hour conference they had plenty of games to show. They announced 4 games after there event!!!

Put aside content questions: it's hard to argue that the presentation aspect was not done better than the live conferences.

Pretty much. Presentation (non-game-footage segments) only dragged around the beginning when Reggie was going on about Super Mario World for some reason. Meant to be heartfelt, didn't go over well.

The Robot Chicken stuff itself was pretty boss, which is amusing as RC itself has sucked for years now.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What this Digital Event has proven, is that going with this format give the companies more freedom in the way they show us their stuff, and can do it in an entertaining and even funny way.

Please excuse my bad English.

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Nothing beats the roar of the audience. They would have fucking died if they saw that vista in Zelda.

Unless you have the privilege of being @ E3 -- digital event far exceeds live event.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

digital event+ treehouse is fantastic. they are showing gameplay and talk about stuff after and we all can see it.

I think this is the right way to go to avoid technical issues, long and awkward silences and to get the pacing running perfectly. I don't mind now Digital Events.

OMG to this thread and this post. I think I have finally accepted how low th enintendo fans have stooped.

You know, To avoid technical issues, they could also just do what every one else does and try and improve on their presentation?

And I really can not believe that there are people that have somehow come to accept that its a good thing that nintendo dosn't show up for media breifings/press conferences. Any one can make a highly polished heavily edited digital briefing. sigh.....

I'll just cut it short.... the only reason nintendo has adopted this strategy, is due to a complete lack of third party support. If sony/ms had a conference where all they had to announce was like 6-10 games  across two platforms of which half of them are trailers for a 2015 release; they would be going digital too.

It was still a Nintendo Direct. At least was better than last year.
Zelda reveal was good but I missed Iwata.
The teaser of Zelda would have got a lot of good reactions over the audience.
