% down of % increase is irrelivant, only % of end numbers matter.  If Wii U went up by 666% and then down by 76% it's better off than PS4 going up by 120% and down by 84%.

Wow, you really don't get it...

Of course it's about the increase. The consoles are not gonna go below their baselines, are they?

I really doubt it.

PS4 went 120k-->200k, an increase of 80k.
Wii U was 30k--->190k, an increase of 160k.

Even a much smaller drop for Wii U (percentage-wise) would mean many more units less.

PS4 sold 8% more.  If Wii U's sales drop 10% less, it's a virtual tie.

It's not about total sales, but how big the increase was.

If PS4 loses 80% of the increase (80k), it stays at 140k.

If Wii U loses only 35% (highly unlikely but let's be generous) of the increase, it stays at 130k.

LMAO percentages how do they work?'s easy to have a bigger increase when your baseline is really bad, sorry but this post is terrible. 600% increase is not impressive when the baseline is so low. The wii-u is going back down to where it's been which is way lower then ps4 is every week. I think nintendo would take the mich better weely baseline then 1 temp bigger increase.

I voted PS4, but it could be either. Whichever way it will be close, I think.

Wii U will sell good, but PS4 more.

They could, but I never said they would.  Again, you don't seem to undestand math if you're even suggesting that I suggested that.

If PS4 had a 84% decrease it would drop to 32k, why on earth would it drop that far below its 110k baseline of the last 3 months, 50% is probably the worst PS4 will drop. And theres no way Wii U will only have a 40% drop after a 666% boost.

Edit 666% was just UK, but whatever large number boost it had world wide

Seriously, you guys are talking past each other, rather than to each other.

TheLastStarFighter is operating on the idea that system sales and game sales will mirror each other - a plausible idea.

Troll_Whisperer, etc, are operating on the idea that system sales increase and game sales will mirror each other - also a plausible idea.

Until we have hardware data (at least for the UK), the speculation is entirely pointless.

EDIT: For anyone confused as to why TheLastStarFighter's version is plausible, try turning the logic on its head - it's not that the sales of Mario Kart 8 are what are increasing Wii U sales numbers, it's the other way around - people are buying Mario Kart 8 alongside their Wii U. Similarly with Watch_Dogs and PS4.

Lmao. The one who doesn't understand math (and logic) here is you XD.

The U will have a bigger hardware drop than the PS4. The PS4 only went up 80k units from its baseline. The Wii-U went up like 140k or something above its baseline. The Wii U has a lot more sales to lose than the PS4.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Personally, I think it will be a very slight Wii U sales lead.

Look at the UK numbers. They were very indicative of ww numbers last week. This week they're seeing an 84% drop for Watch Dogs and 76% drop for MK8. Translate this into hardware sales and Wii U will not even break PS4's baseline.

You're not good at math.  If you do what you said, Wii U exceeds PS4 slightly.

PS4 won't drop as much as Watch Dogs though since it was selling well prior to Watch Dogs being released. Mario Kart is about the only thing selling Wii Us at the moment so that will be a lot closer to the Wii U drop for this week.

Valid point.  I'm curious how it's going to turn out.
