Forums - Microsoft - Kinect 2.0 Coming To Windows For $199

What? That can't be the retail price? There is no way they would charge $200 unless they are just trying to squeeze as much money out of it as possible before it falls into total obscurity.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It's poorly priced at $199, makes better since to buy a Xbox One and sell it for $370-$390, reducing the price to $100 ish, they really should have aimed to market it at an upper limit of $129.99

This isn't for Xbox One.

As I am well aware, but it's still an illogical price.

A better idea would have been to simply sell the windows hubs on their own for a much lower price:

Allowing anyone already owning the thing to use it for PC / development if they wanted to. along side a kinect-only product so those that buy the kinectless version can chose to upgrade whenever they wish.

The only difference between the xbox one kinect and the windows version is the box above.

1. CinemaBlend seems like a perfect site to avoid on regular basis
2. Why so expensive? Is it much different than X1 version? I can't understand what the target market is at this price?

the picture with kinect in the rain is hilarious. 200 is kind of steep

This is the Windows version. Not the Xbox One's Kinect. The difference is the freedom available for programming on PC, Xbox One Kinect is on a closed system. There is no price for the Xbox One's Kinect yet.
