Nothing wrong with this. Console cycles shouldn't be much longer than 5 years, that doesn't mean the older ones need to die, just release a new one a little more often.

Nothing wrong with this. But a 5 year lifespan as some suggested is very short. That probably won't be profitable enough for any of the parties involved.

Like always, they won't start thinking about their next console when the current is near the end uh.

Every 5 years is perfect, I'd even be fine with every 4 years. People have no problem upgrading their phone every 2 years.

They both should have BC next time as I imagine they will be the same architecture with upgraded APUs, RAM/HD size/bandwidth, etc.

Nintendo has said in the past that they're always working on their next console as soon as one releases, so I presume the same goes for the other two. There's no details yet because, well, they haven't decided the details yet, duh.
