Maybe not raped, but the Wii U version is going to outsell it.

So, Wii U version raped the 3DS version
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I think people under estimate SSMB a little too much. I know plenty of people who want nothing to do with the 3DS version. The only reason Nintendo is releasing the 3DS version first is because they want to milk the franchise as much as possible and they know that a 3DS version would be next to useless if released around the same time as the Wii U.
Can you honestly tell me you'd buy the 3DS version over the Wii U if they came out on the same day? Assuming you own both consoles of course. I get the appeal of having it on handheld over home console but the idea of having it on a big screen TV in HD is way more attractive. Plenty of people will end up waiting for the Wii U version, some will get both and then some will get the 3DS version because of lack of patience.
Maybe seeing a new Mario Kart on the Wii U made people realize that the Wii U is a new Nintendo console and not another model of the Wii :D

lol It's funny how many people actually think it's just a Wii with a new fancy controller isn't it? I think the bottom line is, Nintendo needs to start dishing out more multiplayer games, it's something people don't really consider but look at the Xbox 360/Xbox One, PS3/PS4 and PC, the most successful games are usually ones with top notch online multiplayer. Single player games are great but they just don't hold as much ground as something that you can play with friends all over the world.
"People don't want Wii sequels with higher resolutions. What they want are games like Mario Mart 8, Super Smash Bros., Xenoblade 2, Mario Galaxy 3, more Metroid games from Retro, and a new Zelda game like Twilight Princess."

Smash Bros this holiday season=millions sold
XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

Thanks for all the great memories!

How many of the competitive community who kept Melee and Brawl alive do you think will only pick up the 3DS version?

Agreed, the competitive scene alone will have the Wii U version outsell the 3DS version being the first handheld Smash game also goes against it as the entire Smash fanbase are console players currently, that's a big hurdle to get over.
Basically I'm repeating what others have said, but I know of no one who owns a 3DS who plans to purchase the 3DS version over the Wii U version. A few friends who have 3DS' but not Wii Us are already saving up cash to buy a Wii U for Mario Kart 8, and will be playing SSB on the Wii U when it is released.
