It is lag. There were a couple of times where it said I was first place and all of a sudden I was second (without the second player passing by me) because it took a while for all the players to catch up.

Going by the video, the guy who played Rosalina got hit in real time, and by the time you finally caught up, she was already moving like nothing happened.

Actually I think I have noticed that as well. I finshed 3rd but them I suddenly jumped to 6th, or vice versa, cant quite remember.

I'm not a fan of Mario Kart, but netcode this bad, I'd take t he game back and get a refund. This is getting ridiculous, Nintendo.  I'm really wondering if I should get Super Smash Bros on the 3DS or not.

It's not like the glitches I have encountered are constant. They just happen every 4-5 races. I am sure it will be smoothed out in a llittle while.

Thing is people were expecting the servers to crash after launch due to the sheer amount of people. So far it has hold up with only infrequent lag. I'd say that's a good thing... maybe.

Shitty netcode made worse by everyone playing wirelessly.

i plead guilty to that big time

Same, but come on that's how everyone plays!

I use an ethernet cable,

What's weird is that the ingame recording doesn't show what really happened.

In the second video, you can see she gets a boost as she lands.
I know in MKWii if you timed it right you could land and get a boost by shaking the wii-mote, therefore negating some of the slowdown caused by being hit by items.

Is this still doable in MK8?

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

That's definitely lag, happened to me twice, thought I had the race in the bad just to end 3rd lol.

Just hearing the word "lag" makes me excited! I have a lot of experience in playing with lag. LOL has taught me well.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

This is no wonder why nintendo stopped using this.

That was never a thing! If you get hit then that's it, you're stunned for a set time depending on what you're hit by. The only thing shaking the controller did in MKWii was trick off ramps and lessen the damage from the POW Block and only the POW Block.
