Forums - Gaming - What Happened to Great Launch Titles?

Recently, every, and I mean EVERY, game company has failed to impress with launch titles. The last console I remember that had a great launch game was the Wii with Twilight Princess, but even on that you could get TP for GameCube, argueable the better of the two. All of them now only have hype surrounding them. There have been some good ones, but none that really bloomed in ratings

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

I don't know I thought Dead Rising 3 was a pretty good game.

Well there have been good ones but no great ones. I'm sure everybody knows what I mean

Well, I found Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo: Elements of Power, Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U highly enjoyable, to name a few.

The problem may not lie with the developers.

I feel like it also has to do with the recent push to get consoles out faster. They announce the PS4 and Xbox One and then push to get it out before the year is done. I don't think they really gave some devs the time needed to finalize their projects.

The crazy amount of recent delays would appear to back that up.

Yeah that seems to be right.

I agree. Especially on the PS4. Sony hyped up their launch lineup saying it was the best ever but it wasn't all that great.
Best launch lineup for me was the PS2!

N64. nothing beats having one of the best games in history in your launch lineup. Mario 64 is still better than most games being released now days. n64 wins by default.
