yeah, i know what you mean. for the most part the awesome art style made ip for the lack of techinal polish but there were quite a few locations where the ugly got distracting. i wish these games were a bit more polished but the games are soo damn fun i can't not play them.
the grafix isn't too bad. I can go with it.
My Bravely Default CE is for sale, check it out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bravely-Default-Collectors-Edition-Nintendo-3DS-2014-/221490881912?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3391e2a578
That was definitely one of the worst looking spots. I'll admit to playing on PC, but the game felt inconsistent in terms of graphical quality. Some places, like in the OP, looked bad. While some places looked awesome. That spot just after the Guardian Dragon? So purty!
I'm having a hard time finding an image of it.

Oh really? a TW101 bump? Come on, DS is miles ahead of TW101. Reviewers agree, gamers agree. I can tell you from experience that the DS difficulty is not unfair, albeit it can certainly appear to be. Also, i think some reviewers critize DS2 a bit for some of the enemies being legit unfair, but for the most part, it is your typical, trial and error, rinse and repeat. OT: those are pretty jarring. There was a significant downgrade from what I recall. Still, the game is pretty fun on its own right. |
I disagree.
Enjoed both, but W101 is more skill based challenge, while DS is more patience, almost an puzzle. I prefer W101, but that is me.

That's one of the worst graphical places, and you're supposed to be there like 10 seconds, unless someone invades you *COUGHthatstupidmageCOUGH*.
I think Dark Souls 2 looks much better than its predecessors. Majula, that Dragon's place, the place just before the pic you're showing us. Lost Bastille. I dunnu, man. Maybe it's just me.
I have to agree with the sentiment that Dark Souls 2 looks worse than its predecessors in some locations, but looks better in other locations. With said, Dark Souls 2 features a much more stable framerate compared to Dark Souls. Of course, if you're concerned about visual and technical performance, your best bet is to play the game on PC (the framerate alone is worth it).
As a Souls fan, I think that the gameplay and character progression in Dark Souls 2 are at their pinnacles for the series. I was somewhat disappointed by From Software's slight move away from the level design in the original Dark Souls, as well as their decision to not include a branching plot (like the different directions from the serpents). I personally review it slightly lower than the original Dark Souls, but it's still a very fun game.

Too true.
It seems to make DS2 with a stable framerate compared to DS1's framerate issues they had no choice but to compromise on the number of polygons and the resolution of the textures. It seems like that was the problem here.
This is why I haven't bought the game, even though I was a huge fan of Dark Souls, I would rather they upgrade the game to PS4, because I feel that PS3 dosen't do the game justice.
