Holy fack I was so wanting Algeria to tie the match on that last effort wouldve been epic. Awesome match.

Well, at the very least the African teams have done themselves proud here.

Germany did not really play like Germany, but it was enough against this team. Algeria's gameplan was dump and chase, and it's worrying how effective it looked at times. Hummels is definitely missed. Great show by both keepers though.
Despite the goal, Oezil had a horrendous game. Lahm is utterly unremarkable in midfield, but is truly brilliant in defense. Why the hell do they play him in midfield? Germany has more than enough midfielders, but are short on defense. You can't be pushing Lahm up and leaving the position to Mustafi.

But were judginf Colombia based on a weak group (it was the weakest group of the first phase) and a match x a completly wrecked Uruguay. Were gona have a clear picture after the Brazil match. Brazil isnt realy playing well but every team that gave Brazil a hard time also gave everyone else a hard time too so again might be a case of reference rather than Brazil not beeing well.

They won't play against France the same way because France won't bury themselves like Algeria did. They will have more room and they won't stand as high as they did this game. It will be another tense game.

Germany is always stronger against stronger teams because they actually attack and leave room for them.
