You must not watch much football

And you must be English with no bias for the English team.

Well, erm...the statistics sorta talk for themselves. Better possesion, more shots, more on target...just the goals which were lacking, and some bad luck as well.

Eh, it is what it is now. I'm proud of the performance and am much more pleased than 4 years ago, even if we're gone a round earlier.

Goals are the only statistics that matter, really. Shots on target are meaningless if all/vast majority of the shots are worthless.

Carl2291 was saying England somehow dominated its rivals. Or he used another word which I forgot

Based on that replay whatever that was was a foul. I don't get this "rule" that if the ball is touched (and in the above example it was barely touched), then no matter that the other player was absolutely stopped by force to reach the barely touched ball, it's not a penalty. I mean, 98% of the above effort ended up in the colision with the attacker and 2% into touching the ball.

Looking at the replay, i'm not sure what to think. On one hand, Zabaleta touched the ball first so it technically isn't a penalty. But on the other hand, he crossed his right leg all the way to the attacker's left leg to make him fell. So...I say it wasn't a penalty because no one else but the attacker asked for a penalty. Not even the brazilians on the stadium who wanted Iran to win (well, more like wanted argentina to lose).

Is the bolded a rule? Because if yes, it's stoopid questionable.

Look at the speed and direction of the ball and red player. He was on track to get to the ball easily. Even after the slight speed and direction change of the ball.

On the other hand, the white player clearly violently touches both the right thigh (making the right leg twist as the knee goes to the inside and the foot changesdirection) and the left foot. Quite the efficient way of stopping someone in hes tracks.

It's strange that noone asked for a penalty. I didn't see the while action so maybe there was something in the positioning of whatever, but the small replay from abive absolutely shows the red player being prevented from playing the ball.

Nope, no rule. For an 150 pages document detailing the rules of the game, there's suprisingly little to go on on fouls. I refere you to pages 36 and 117 from the following document: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/footballdevelopment/refereeing/02/36/01/11/lawsofthegameweben_neutral.pdf

There's nothing about touching or not touching the ball at all.

Team USA unleashed the Ghana beast. All teams should be very afraid now.

Good game so far. Neither team is really dominating but I feel like Germany has the upper hand. Some good efforts from Ghana though
