Well Nigeria qualified for the World Cup, which means they finished 1st in their group. Argentina couldn't finish 1st in the Oceania qualifiers if they tried their hardest, this isn't very surprising.

Maybe so but I guarantee you not many people would put Nigeria over Argentina, Nigeria are the best African team at the moment having needing to qualify from a group which had 3 recent ACN champions (one of which is themselves) in it. Then again African teams seem to have good performances against South American teams as Cameroon hold a strong record against Brazil and Senegal do very well against the likes of Uruguay.

I'm not sure about "many people" but personally I'd put pretty much anything over Argentina at the moment.

Believe me it is many people most people aren't avid football fans who are more informed.

Disappointing end to the campaign for real Ireland. I was at all home matches and a few away matches including Denmark, Wales and Vienna so some epic memories.

It was not to be. Denmark outclassed us tonight. We had chances to make Russia but we didn't take them. We should have went 2 or 3 zero up tonight and we might have done it. But more importantly we could have topped the group. We should have beaten Austria at home and Georgia away. If we did we'd be going to Russia.

Anyway I'll probably travel to the WC now with my gf. And with no real Ireland or fake Ireland qualifying it will be much cheaper. Always look on the brightside of life.. .
