Ref is doing a flawless job. Penalty was evident, red card deserved, no denying either. If anything, linesman missed an obvious offside by Portugal, that would have been an unfair score, but even the Portuguese players knew they were offside and stopped playing.

I predicted 3:0, but I doubt that Germans will slow down. Now I hope they score as many as they can, they deserve it. So far, the best team in the tournament.

fifa made football soft by rewarding freekicks/cards for minimal contact so players go down, been like that for years now

you get the same punishment for real violence/fouls that you get for a nothing tackle, strange system but that is fifa

Pepe is the definition of a dipshit. Way to seriously cripple your team further.

For anyone that still says the Penalty is good. Look at the first replay from the 0:42 mark, when the camera behind both players is showing the replay. Muller grabs Joao Pereira's shirt on the chest area to gain the front and after gaining the front Joao Pereira grabs Muller's shirt.

Should have been an offensive fault first before it was even a penalty.

I agree, I wouldn't call it a headbutt but its the rules of football. Any deliberate clashing of heads, no matter what the power, is a headbutt. That has to be a red by the rules, but if it was up to me I would give a yellow.

Its not like US or Ghana are tough opponents though.

Over look us and them at own peril.  This group will be a battle for that second spot.

it is just the luck,we have plenty of players sent off for nothing, just the way it goes

don't think you would ever beat germany anyway,so shouldn't make much difference to qualifying,i said earlier i'd take ofronaldo though,no point wasting him

I didn't think so either (that we had a chance to win), but these kind of decisions can make a huge dent on the morale of a team, not to mention long term consequences since with this red card, Pepe is off for the next match as well (and probably Gana, if FIFA comitee decides to give him a 2 games ban).

And yeah, Ronaldo has to be switched, as well as Nani. I wouldn't call the US and Gana easy matches, any team can do a surprise in the WC.

yes it can stop the confidence fro sure,i mean if ronaldo and the team all played at their top level you can match anyone but that is not easy  to do in footy

i agree don't know if ghana are still as good but ghana & usa are not easy games like some are ina WC,going to be tough but exciting

Lol its not at my peril though.

Holy sh*tballs, Portugal is a complete mess!

Once you entered you won't be the same anymore. A blog about life.

Portugal already had 2 substitutions, they can't save Ronaldo + Nani...

Yes, the penalty was probably wrong, but the red card was right. It doesn't matter how hard the headbutt was. It will only matter for the number of games he's banned. I think it will be two, a hard headbutt would be something like 5.

Muller did not grab Pereira's shirt, he was using his strength to get past. Pereira then brought him down. It is debatable but for me thats a clear penalty.
