Arsey whinger is now saying "the Champions League has become less interesting in recent years". I'm sure that's not at all due to him being bitter that his team aren't in it anymore though...

He was talking about Group stages and he's spot on. Not many games worth watching there. He also Said he misses the comptetition.

It would be interesting to see this draft thing in football sometimes. It sure would make leagues more exciting. But then again it's also great to see all these superstar teams play.

We've had 1 champions league week so far and it was great. Barca/Juve and BVB/Spurs were both great games!

I don't think PL teams lost CL protagonism due to the league getting more competitive. I think top teams got more inconsistent.

Also, Spains 2(I'd add atlético) horse race gets real pressure on those sides. Just a handfull of loses or draws define the league, and those teams perform at good level in both CL and EL. It's not like Real or Barca wouldn't get similar results in other leagues.

And this week we've got Dortmund vs Real Madrid, PSG vs Bayern & Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea.

If none of those games appeal to you then you probably don't like football

But you know... Champions league group stages are boring.

Definitely looking forward to those games!

My point wasn't that Real or Barca only do well in Spain because the league is a two horse race, it was that because they dominate Spain so much, they become stronger sides as a result. It means every year those two teams will be competing for titles and playing Champions League, and also generating loads of money, so inevitably they become very attractive teams for top players, which in turn makes them even stronger and more dominant. Instead, England's top teams "got more inconsistent" as you say because the league became considerably more competitive and that made it a lot harder for any team to dominate.

The Champions League actually causes a lot of the disparity. It's the main reason Celtic and Basel keep winning their leagues, the revenue for making the Champions League keeps them on top.

2 great games out of 16 ok then 😃 And you pretty much know which teams will go through so yeah, it's less exciting. At least couple of groups look interesting though. Of course we will enjoy those big teams playing each other but the excitement begins after group stages routine, really.

Yeah, which games do you actually have time to watch? I didn't realise you were going to watch all 16?

There's always great group stage games and this week is no exception. Dortmund real, PSG Bayern, atletico Chelsea. People don't really have time to watch more than that.

Man this Dortmund - Real is a pain to watch because the camera is shaking and zooming all over the place. Dortmund will Be punished playing such a high line.

Hey bruh at least you got to see your team winning a freaking league title for once. I've had that pleasure taken away from me as a Liverpool supporter at least once and yet I'm not as depressive about our current (questionable) situation. Feyenoord were never exactly favorites in that group anyway, you shouldn't have gotten your hopes up.

I was fully expecting us to not make it out of the group, but we're just so utter shit I never would have imagined it like this. That defending at the goal, it's just outright laughable because there simply isn't any defending. Insigne picks up the ball 40 meters out and gets to freely walk towards the edge of the box and shoot because all the defenders just run backwards. 0 pressure on Insigne.
