I'm not saying I'm certain it's a bribe, it could just as well be that he succumbed to pressure in the moment, with so much responsibility on your shoulders standing there on the field of a host nation that is powerful in the football world. It's not like the first time it happened in big games.

You literally said he was bribed. Multiple times. Don't pretend you didn't.

Yes I did, to exaggerate the situation. A bribe would naturally make it even worse, but even if it was only one person's decision it probably destroyed the outcome of the game. Both scenarios upset me greatly and that's what I want to communicate.

Because a hand deflected header right in front of the goal is a "minor" foul. So balanced, so fair. It was a goal opportunity fraudulently deflected. Foul. Penalty.

How is it fair to allow such a move during such an important game ?

Oh, and if the Swedish TV said so... Must be hella true

This is starting to feel bizarre. The only thing you seem able to see is the foul. It's like you are totally unaware of the other factors I described, the fairness and balance of the game and even politics.

Didn't you see the situation? There was no goal chance, had the hand not deflected the ball it still hadn't become a scoring chance. Didn't you see all the players in the penalty box just standing calmly for 10 seconds, nobody waving their hands or anything. Nobody expected or demanded a penalty

Stopping the ball irregularily 6m away from the goal isn't something to be ignored. You really just need to accept this.
"But the politics, but the balance"

Nah.

Next time let's just push the ball away with our very hands during a corner. No scoring chance, right ?

Also, just watch Giroud's reaction. The ref was waiting for his assistants opinion. And just watch Can's awful tackle on Sissoko the second right after. Two major fouls in a few seconds, penalty. It was 100% justified, and no, just because it's a Semi Final doesn't mean you must ignore major fouls.

It was not the ref who pushed the ball in Griezmann's feet for the 2nd goal. It wasn't him either who couldn't score a single goal while attempting 18 times (5 on target).  It wasn't him who struggled while defending each time France managed to make 3-4 passes.

Germany lost, a little stupidly, but they lost. France stole nothing, the refs did their jobs

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

It was minor, since it didn't prevent a clear chance for goal and considering that they almost always let these pass. Shirtpullings against the attacking player controlling the ball in the penalty box happens several times in each game. If they would blow for all similar incidents you'd get far over 10 penalty shots each game.

Girioud's reaction was quite moderate, and it seems he was the only one who reacted.

Good that you mention the tackle on Sissoko. Because it was just outside of the penalty box. The common and wise decision would have been to give a free kick for that.

Welp, that was a major fault in my opinion. Putting your hand above your head is a carelessly action for a professional player, and Schweinsteiger knew it... hence why he didn't complain about the penalty (while his teammates were complaining a lot). That's pretty simple actually, there is nothing unfair about that.

Anyway, I'll be rooting for France on the final since I believe they deserve it the most not only for having the best campaign of the competition, but also for playing great football since the last World Cup. I also like Griezmann a lot.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Agreed! Their team is very good, the normal team is not playing due to injuries. Their midfield should be an example to Tata Martino.

How do you play 4-3-3 with 3 defensive midfielders? Never seen it in my life. Tata was afraid of Chile.

Agreed! The good part is that Tata is out. The bad news is that no one wants to come... I won't blame them though, AFA has no money to pay salaries. Tata Martino was more than 4 months without getting payed...

I've seen a few coaches saying they want to be, like Caruso Lombardi, Bilardo and some say that Sampaoli wants to quit Sevilla to go to Argentina. But yeah, AFA situation seems to be very bad

On Messi, at least in the last match I think he was the best you guys had and we needed lots of players to nullify him each time he had the ball and your other players didn't help him at all. I mean, Agüero and Higuain on club level are equivalent or better than our best players on their own, but didn't show anything world class. At least I can say that when playing against other SA teams, I get more scared everytime Messi takes the ball and has some space compared to  Neymar, James, Cavani, etc...

Portugal will win the final 100%

Seriously look at this video, it was clearly deliberate from the german player. He aimed and punched the ball!

Everyone in the Swedish TV studio, including football pros were outraged. So it can't be that hilarious what I argue. In top cup football there are several fouls being commited during every game, fouls that technically with a strict interpretation of the rule book would give a penalty, but refs are wise and most of the time allow them to pass in order to safeguard the balance of the game. The balance and fairness of the game is top priority for a referee. Unless orders come from above that demands the balance to be broken.

The thing is to understand the magnitude of a semi-final and decide whether you as a football fan want them to allow a minor foul to risk destroying the outcome. This time they allowed, and it did.

Not on the SVT broadcast that I was watching. Quite the opposite.
The first panel member said that Schweinstager had his hand "unnaturally high" and "I can buy that it was a penalty in this situation."
The second panel member said "It was harsh at first when you couldn't really see what happened, but according to the rules it was a correct decision. He should not have been flailing his arms like that."

After the deflection the ball ended up by the feet of a German player. If there was no handball deflection, it could have ended up by the feet of a French player. Things like that affect the game. The reffs don't have the instant replay technology or multiple camera angles at their disposal to judge where the trajectory of the ball would have lead it to without the handball.

Thank you. Claiming it didn't affect the play is pure nonsense.

True, and this replay shows Evra got ther header.
So it's a goal opportunity, a shot at the goel deflected by a German player's hand. Major foul. Penalty.

Noo! Why Germany did you have a bad day yesterday?

Too many silly mistakes and too unlucky to score yourselves. For the record I think an Italian referee probably wasn't the best idea, but the penalty was a penalty. I wanted the final to be Belgium-Germany. If not I hoped for Italy. Well, at least Spain isn't a finalist. Now I hope Portugal wins, I don't like France.
