I much prefer when a developer has a stance like this, than when he does a Cliffy B and loses his shit because a critic gives his game 8.5.

You'll never be able to please everyone and the industries obsession with trying to do so has already ruined a few franchises, so a comment like this is very welcome.

Not everything is a bash tbf. Some people have just said they weren't very impressed by it for X reasons.

And if we were to say it's unreasonable to come out and say one can't use said small sample to give their opinion of being unimpressed then others opinions of it being impressive would be equally invalid wouldn't they?

I mean you can't say you can use X sample to say "This gets me hyped" but this person can't use X sample to say "I'm not interested"
