Forums - Nintendo - Digital Foundry vs Mario Kart 8-720p 59/60 fps

DF……BUTT HURT that Mario Kart 8 has been OBLITERATING Watchdogs pre orders all over the world, and also butt hurt that Watchdogs is 900p and 30fps and not 1080p 60fps like Ubisoft promised. Never seen so much butt hurt in gaming!! Just as Watchdogs graphics are way reduced that what was promised DF try and destroy Mario Kart 8. The comments on other sites about DF are hilarious!! All you hear about anymore is 1080p, 60FPS. Every console game must meet this goal or it sucks. It has become a issue that seems more important to gamers than gameplay itself, as it seems to be discussed more. You bought a console, you did not buy a super computer, if you went into this generation thinking everything would be 1080P, 60FPS for the next 10 years on your console you're delusional and need a reality check. It's not going to happen for a the majority of games, but those games can still be great, if you keep setting the bar so high for every console game out there, how are you ever going to be satisfied. The amount of importance console gamers are putting on resolution and FPS since these new consoles came out, is out of control. And sites like Digital Foundry are the main cause of this. They are stoking the flames of this console wars bullshit by comparing games on different platforms, declaring a winner, like kids in a playground arguing over who's dad is the toughest. You were taken in by the PR spin, like give me 60FPS or give me death, and a bunch of other crap . We are already seeing this fall apart with games like DriveClub that are 30FPS, and The Order. But it doesn't even matter, it's been blown out of all proportions by DF and gamers taken in by this stuff. So get over it and enjoy games for what they are, not what you think they should be. Otherwise you're never going to be happy with the vast majority of games, and we will all have to read this never ending bitching about how everything sucks and has flaws and blemishes. This new generation is already sucking a lot harder than the last, and it's mostly down to this 1080P, 60FPS Bullshit that plagues ever console game release. STFU about it already, it's a unrealistic benchmark to set for all console games. It completely baffles me: Everybody talkes about Wii U having weak hardware. Maybe on paper. But when I've been playing a PS4 game for hours (Assassin's Creed, NFS, etc.) and I switch to my Wii U I certainly don't notice a dip in graphics quality at all. I did play the demo of Mario Kart 8 at Gamestop in Rochester and it ran smoothly. Enough hate for Nintendo ! I bet that S/X(maybe) bribed the Digital Foundry to do the damage the sales of Mario Kart 8. When the video game industry crash, Nintendo would survive the crash and move on to continue making a great games. “but upon seeing it (the game running at 59fps) for ourselves we immediately noticed that something was amiss” says everything about these people. No-one cares. Go and touch a woman or a man (whichever your preference) rather than wasting your life. The fact you immediately noticed a frame less per second is beyond sad. Seriously, go and experience the outside world. M.K.8 720p up 1080p 59/60, how can any human being see the difference between 60fps and 59 fps without any digital help? you can't. he way I see it, I don't think either PS4 or X1 have had a major release that's hit 1080p/60fps any way. Like mentioned in the article, people can't tell the difference between 59 and 60 fps any way and a LOT of people can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p or else we wouldn't be having this discussion to begin with. Therefore this whole topic is irrelevant

Digital foundry is the most pointless site in gaming, the only thing it does well is stir trouble between fanboys. I do remember the days when it used to be how well a game played opposed to how many pixels are produced.

Watch Dogs has more pre-orders than Mario Kart.

How are DF "butt hurt?" They praised the things worthy of praising, and expressed their disappointed at the areas it fell flat. That's what they do; it's quite literally their job :P They didn't say anything that can't be confirmed by anyone else with a little basic knowledge of the subject.

I'd also recommenced going and reading their 59/60fps comment again. They quite clearly state that it didn't detract from the gameplay at all, and that most wouldn't notice it.

Outside of the resolution, lack of AA, sub-par texture filtering and a brief mention of the frame stutter, pretty much everything they said was positive. They also had almost nothing but praise for the game itself.

Digital foundry made Watchdogs?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Anyone actually read the OP?
The OP clearly didn't put in the effort to make his ramblings readable so I won't put in the effort of reading this mess.
I skimmed over it and saw some strong language so it's probably not for me anyway.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

So basically, Eurogamer starts rumors which = clickbait and DF disproves rumors which = clickbait not to say I hate DF or anything cause I respect them a lot nor does this happen all the time but its a neat thing they got going here

Also... spaces would be nice

I am not opposed to threads about DF at all - they serve a purpose in the gaming industry keeping media accountable. Though I agree they more often just spur pointless and irrelevant (from a gaming perspective) resolution debates.

However this thread has a tone that appears deliberately designed to start a flaming war. If it gets out of hand I will lock immediately.
