I will define this into 5 categories. These are not quantative but rather qualitative specific to your gaming needs. But please be honest. Pretending to not want a game or console just because you can't afford it doesn't count.

Category 1: Limitless

You are able to buy every game or console you want, should you feel the need to. You don't hesitate to upgrade your PC when you want to. This doesn't have to mean that you have a gaming budget of thousands every month but just that you can satisfy all your needs without looking twice on the price. You don't sell games for the need for more money.

Category 2: Limited

You're not able to buy everything you want but your most anticipated games are easily acquired. "Want" in this case means games you actually want to possess and play and not just games that just look interesting to you. You have no problem to get at least one of your desired consoles and are able to upgrade your PC when it starts to get unbearable for your  standards. You sell some games to be able to afford some games your budget wouldn't normally allow.

 Category 3: Constrained

Buying consoles or games at launch are considerable expenses to you. You calculate hard, have to save money or have to wait until a game becomes cheaper to afford it. You will have to pass on some games you want. You are dependant on selling games or hardware to satisfy your basic gaming needs.

Category 4: Dependent (spoiled)

You depend on other people to buy consoles or games for you or give you money for it. But people are usually generous and can supply your basic gaming needs. To acquire your own games you have to save up for some time or sell what you own.

Category 5: Dependent (poor)

You practically have to beg other people for money and games. You won't play a lot of games you want. You will only get a few games a year and maybe some from the bargain bin. You have to take up an extra job to satisfy your basic needs. Games at launch or new consoles are out of the question.

And now be honest. Being a savvy buyer and always hunting the best deals doesn't mean you're smart. It means you don't have enough disposable income. Hunting for bargains or buying used effectively eliminates you from Category 1 and makes Category 2 questionable.

I guess mine would be Limited... Can't really buy all the consoles but the games, hell yes! And I do have a PC that I will upgrade with the release of Witcher 3

And I do save some money in case there are some surprise tits involved

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I usually get everything I want, but I wait til the price drops so I'm able to afford everything, if I got everything day 1 I'd be broke.

Limitless, but I only pick up stuff I am highly interested in on Day 1.  I also try to keep backlog at 8-10 games or less.  I don't like having an overwhelming one.

well er........my usual 2 main games a year counts as category 6!

very few small digital games I have.

Well, I acquire money from a summer internship I've been doing the last couple years, and the money I earn goes towards "fun" things in college, which includes video games.

In a sense it's limitless for everything I want, but I still limit myself and hold back because I don't like having a low amount in my bank account.

Somewhere between 1 and 2, I'm currently making about twice as much as in the past five years but I need to save up for some courses and classes and other things that will lead to an immense upgrade in income and living situation so I feel like holding on to them.

I have enough right now to get a new rig and all three 8th gen consoles with some games but I need to save!

Somewhere between category 1 and 2. I COULD buy just about everything I want. But that would be stupid.

I am basically limitless but with the perk that my time is highly constrained. So the few games I manage to play every year are easily acquired with my budget. I generally have a high budget for everything technological and a low budget for living expenses. My electrical bills are as high as my food and clothing budget combined.

I already beat what I have and there are games I want that's out now. I'm pretty much poor. That's the only reason I have so much free time on VGChartz.
